Starter question Need help ASAP.

Can anyone tell me what the differences is between the 89 plus 33 dollar core charge direct drive starter and a 158.00 plus 55 core charge for a reduction gear starter :dunno:

I have to get up in the rain and replace my wifes for the second time in less than 2 years

If some one could explain the difference and if it really necessary to have the ruduction gear compared to direct drive.

Wish i could help ya out but i have no clue as to what you are saying. :dunno:

what does she need a starter for? just tell her to push start it!

honestly, have no clue what you are talking about

direct drive was used back in the day before the new reduction gear
auto-manufacturers started using these high-tech starters in the 90’s, in order to achieve a multitude of benefits, including faster starting, less weight and space, and simply a better, more reliable, design that does not demand as much battery power as the older starters.

 you shouldnt be asking that on a newer car, wtf are you trying to do???

get the 89 bollar one, thats what its has i think!

did you get the recall done on your car were they put a relay inline with your starter
called thermal event recall or something i did 2 of them on a 2.2 cav

why shouldn;t I be asking it? they had 10 different starters to choose from and I had no idea what the difference was. This shit all happend at 1 in the morning I was tired pissed off and had to do it first thing in the morning.

Anyways yes she had the relay done on the recall, I havn’t had mine done yet.

The starter is in it works its about 1/4 bigger in size than the oler one and just fits :dunno:

ALl I know now is her fucking radio shit the bed so Now I have to tear out the dash and see if it is one of the radio fuses since its an aftermarket unit

Eh well I got the battery tested because the car was still cranking slow. Well the alt is good but the battery was only putting out 7v on a load. SO I replaced the battery, and now the radio still doesn;t work but when I was fooling around with it the CD spit out :dunno: but still refuses to power up. Oh Well We’ll see if this fixes everything…
