A fortunate 15-1 season. How many of those games could have been lost from getting conservitive after getting the lead. How many playoff games were ugly as sin from being conservitive from the start? How many timing pattern calls resulted in ints in the last Steelers Superbowl due to the defense jumping all over them and the reciever not able to get where he was suposed to be? Neil got destroyed by everyone over those ints. Funny how quickly everyone forgot that he had one of the best attempt to int ratio’s in the NFL.
Plexico just announced in an interview on the local news he won’t be returning to Pittsburgh… Ghetto… Typical move for him, he wants the money like I’ve been saying all along.
Why do you not throw on first down?? Cause we are a running, hit you in the face team. If we can’t get a running game going and use our play action passing to hit some good first/second down throws then we are toast. We ran the ball effectively tonight but got taken out of that soon as we went down by 14/21 points. If we didn’t have the key mistakes earlier I don’t know if they would of won. But that’s the game of football.

BTW…maybe it’s just my eyesight but I can’t recall Ben calling any audiables at the line. Was this a way of keeping Ben from being a deciding factor that all the sports shows kept talking about or is he really that stupid? I don’t think he is seeing as he did it through the regular season. I understand the “Going to line up and punch you right in the mouth” approach but when you punch the other guy in the mouth and he pounds the shit out of you, you can’t keep going back in like Rocky. Only Rocky can do that in the movies.

well i dont really know what to say. u cant place the blame on Ben only,but he looked like shit again and was a huge reason. it was a great season. i had alot of fun watching our team this year and am thankful for that. im not gonna be one of those dudes that all of a sudden says ‘oh well the TE coach runs the offense what do u expect,…or Cowher isnt a good coach.’ u dont go 15-1 and go to the AFC Championship game if that was the case. we lost, thats all there is to it. as far as Burress, i heard on the radio this morning that when asked if he played his last game in Pittsburgh, he replied ’ I think so, i don’t like my role in the offense. i want to be more involved.’ so we’ll see. i’m miserable at work today, w/ my steeler hat on. so heres to a great season anyways. :steelers: :steelers:

So he had a little problem with drinking, he went into rehab and hopefully he’ll be back to himself. The guy admits it and worked on his problem, gotta give him props for that.
Reasons why I think the steelers lost
- ben is a rookie and played like one
- cowher sucks ass as a coach when it really counts (ie. playoffs)
- New England is just a much better team, we got lucky the first time but they showed us up when it really counted.
oh well, another season down, maybe next year - or when we get rid of Cowher.
Cowher has been plagued by going up against the best coach in the league for the last 5 years. Noone has been better than Bellichek, sorry that’s just how it is, and he’ll get another shot at him. If you think we should get rid of Cowher you are a complete idiot.

We did get outcoached, once the game fell down 10 pts we were out of our game and we don’t have the resources to play down by 10, that’s now how our team is built.

They aren’t a much better team, if Ben doesn’t throw the first interception and we don’t lose the ball on the next drive, it’s a completely different game. It’s a complete mirror image of the game we played them this year except it went the other way.
27 points is enough to win a game even if 4 interceptions are thrown

Looking at the game from the 1st quarter on, we were in the game the entire time, just the early fumble/int hurt us, and took us out of how we really wanted to play the game.
It’s no secret Cowher is a conservative coach and team. There has been many championships won on that. But I do agree we need a better offensive coordinator.
in a AFC Champinship game you CAN NOT turn the ball over 3-4 times and think ur going to win!!!

We do not need a better Offensive Coordinator. What else do you want the man to do? Nobody is going to be perfect, sometimes, god forbid, you have to leave it up to the players on the field!

95Green - Why not the Giants? One word. COUGHLIN… Do you really think Burress can play for an asshole dictator like Tom Coughlin? That would be the worst career move he could possibly make. Plus, playing for another young quarterback, I don’t think thats what Plax is looking for… He said all that he wants to do is win. Well, if thats the case, I doubt he’ll go to the Giants. I think he works well in the Steelers setup, but he doesn’t like the amount of touches he gets… Well, then let him go somewhere else… He’s not a 100 catch reciever, he’s too inconsistent to be a #1 go-to guy… Wherever he goes, he’d better have a good group of supporting recievers or hell really struggle.
Everyone is all in a tizzy because they lost. It’s really not some huge deal. The team isn’t horrible, its not the end of the world, and they are going tobe damn good next year… Everyone just needs to get their brains back (those that have them) and realize we had a great year and we’re going to be really good again next year!

I’m not screaming the sky is falling but I do think we need to have the ability to open the offense up a bit more. I’d like to some more screens and the old sweep, god nothing like watching 2/3 linemen pulling and leading the way for a 240lb back.
I think we had a GREAT season, I just hope Philly wins cause no matter how many times I see him on T.V. I just can’t stand Tom Brady… I fucking hate see’ing him at all… I’m just not a Tom Brady believer…
