They lined up in a situation where we should of been running 3rd down draws, traps, sweep, screens, and reverses. 3 men on the line against us with a linebacker shadowing Ben? Please…
Big Ben played like shit, but he was put in a bad situation from his coaches, we should of been more creative in giving him a better chance…
Also wtf happenned to Plexico… he got wtfcovered the entire game…
Exactly,who goes for a FG when your down 14 points in the 4th with 2 yds to go?..That was a WTF play…We played bad,new england played good…That’s the end of the story and you cant complain about this team…It’s been one helluva focking ride this year and my hat goes off to the pittsburgh steelers…Here’s to you guys

Well, we did get outcoached, but Ben’s 3 INTs were without a doubt the determining factor of the game. But hey, this was a rebulilding year for us. Not bad to be the #1 seed and make it to the AFC Championship in a rebuilding year. I really dont know how to feel right now. Im so fucking spent. I cant decide wether im angry or sad. I guess a little bit of both. Oh well, I cant wait to see how we do next season. Go Steelers! :hs:

i think Plax is. I really hope he stays. I have a much different outlook on him than i did at the beginning of the season.

I hope he goes, he’s still got whack work ethic, and Randal El has shown he can be the big play man as well… Instead of relying on his height as his only ability…

i really hope they all stay. We had a hell of a team this year. We just need a few more years of experience under Ben’s belt, and we will be golden. Its the story of the Steelers. Always the QB fucking up to bring us down. However, I still think that Ben is the real deal. Look at McNabb, Culpepper, Brady… it took all of them 5 or so years to really be dominant. For being a rookie, Ben had a HELL of a year, superbowl ring or not.
no. At the beginning of the season, i would have agreed with you. All of the coaches were blown away by the change in his work ethic, and in just about any game, he will be a mismatch just because of his size. Ben didnt do a good job capitalizing on his mismatch in the last couple games. Give it some time, and I guarantee he will.

what ppl r forgoting…on 3 and 17…smith held the rb…and gave them the automatic first down…which they scored on that drive…if he didnt hold him…the prob. would have punted!!! and we might have scored there!!!
and antoher thing…why put ben in this bad situations…long 3rd downs…why not on first down when the r looking for the run…do a quik slant or a quik curl??? then have like 2nd and 4 or 2nd and 3??? i htink bad play calling was part of it to!!
im not gonna listen to your speculation, because its just that…speculation. I will agree that the play calling in the first half was rediculously predictable. Run on 1st and 2nd, then pass on 3rd. They should have showed more confidence in Ben from the get go, but hindsight is always 20/20. Had it worked, no one would be questioning it at all.
This my friends is what you get for letting a TE coach take over your offense. Marlarkey did it and now Weeslecunt. Pittsburg has hurt for better offensive play calling since Knoll left. Untill they get rid of these timing pass plays they have been using for 13 years now and get someone to teach the QB to read defense’s and find open recievers this is all we’ll see. AFC Champ and Superbowl losses. Ben’s one int was because he threw to the wrong reciever = stupid timing pass play.

Plaxico Burress - WR
Kendrell Bell - LB
Keydrick Vincent - OG
Jerome Bettis - RB
Hines Ward is not a Free Agent, he has one year left on his contract.
Kendrell is gone… Before this year, I remember alot of people saying the Steelers could only afford to keep Bell or Burress… I think that has been answered pretty easily by Larry Foote’s play as well as Ben’s maturation and use of Burress as a security blanket.
Keydrick is important, but we will be getting Kendall Simmons back next year so Keydrick could possibly be expendible.
Jerome well, its up to him… he can come back for the same $$ and the same role, or retire… Well know more in March/April
95green - How would you have any fuckin idea where Plax is going to go? Please… He is the MOST IMPORTANT free agent signing for the Steelers in the off-season… Sure, alot of us dont like the way he acts, etc… but we need him, he’s a big part of Ben’s future development. He will be the Steelers #1 target… If he gets a team to come after him, it will be either Baltimore, Cleveland, and some others… Baltimore is what I’ve read online from cnnsi.com and espn.com as the biggest suitor of Burress other than the Steelers, but I think he’ll take a big contract and stay here.
