So I’m right about to buy this steering wheel, and I’m thinking about getting a quick release hub for a couple extra bucks. A buddy of mine with a neon says his wheel came with one but he never put it on because quote “it stuck out like 3 inches, was uncomfortable and looked stupid”. Just seein what you guys think about this? I think it would be a pretty good anti theft device when its in my driveway at night, but if its as bad as he makes it sounds I won’t bother. I don’t really care how it looks but how comfortable is it for you guys who are using them? I don’t want the wheel in my chest lol.
Also on a side note, 240sx s13 hub adapters will fit a 180 fine right?
I always wonder about this too who sells one that is th exact size that the OEM wheel is ? i dont want the quick release in my chest either… ide have one by now if i knew where to get a good one!
I was just lookin on egay and there like $30 or 40 ish I think, and most come with a hub adapter for s13 if you can find one, so your all set and all u need is a wheel
well hoestly, you gotto think about how tall you are, for someone thin and like 5;10 like me, i have a hub, then a quick release and i love how close it puts the wheel to me, and at no time has it looked stupid and alot of people like the feel of the wheel that close, other then the extra finger length you have to reach to hit the signal/wipers.
depends all on personal prefrence.
i can snap a pic with wheel on and off if you want tomorow.
jarad youll be okay with aquick release i have a normal hub on my coupe and the old hatch im 62 and it fits just fine and i have a belly:) you are skinny and maybe 58-510?ish you would enjoy the car more with a guick release
i donno about u guys…
i’m not very tall myself, ~170cm, and i have no name bucket seat, and a sparco steering wheel w/o deep dish mounted on a HKB hubw/ 10mm spacer, and i figure i had it too short, so now i’ve got a 1" spacer… believe me or not, i still think it’s still short, and i c most of u guys are pretty tall, i don c y u guys are scare that the steering wheel will be too close?
ever seen one come off while driving because its a cheap china made one?
i havent personally, but ive heard from a buddy who bought the cheaper ebay ones that it happened to him.
the last thing youde want after just getting your car back would be having the ball bearings on a cheap qr round or w/e and have the wheel come off or go loose at highway speeds.
the techniq q/r is only about an inch thin and is actually safe buy one of those… it’s pricey but worth it. doesn’t stick out gay ammoutns of distance and is a nice looking quality / safe product. end of discussion the other ghetto ebay / china q/r suck
ok cool not buying a cheapo one then Matty. I didn’t know they were that shitty lol. Any particular affordable brands that can get the job done? Is that one for $90 James posted any good? Anything else, I keep shoppin
