Steve Jobs drove without license plates

What did Steve Jobs actually accomplish besides becoming a successful marketer by rebranding existing products? He never actually invented anything and waged countless patent wars that actually slowed technological development. And what kind of ego maniac is too good for license plates? Oh yeah and all of Apple’s products are made in China.

ROFL, holy hardcore reply.

I do think it was a dick move to park “wherever” he wanted and kinda egotistical. That said it’s a shitty to be saying “glad he’s dead”.

Okay this not a legal document but a brief explanation…

According to The Constitution you are free to travel. Pretty much every document you sign at the DMV involves you giving up rights for the privilege to get one of their really cool licenses. If you have never surrendered any of your rights by signing any of these documents you are free to travel. If you make a plate that reads “Sovereign New Yorker” be ready to be pulled over and defend your rights though. Like every right you have surrendered in your life you may find this one is not worth defending either. You have rights but the government sometimes will make it a nightmare defending them. Convenient huh?lol

It may sound crazy now but go back 100 years and tell people they can’t travel without giving up some of their rights.

This country is fucked but, you just be a good citizen and be distracted by your TV.

I went a little too far, it doesn’t actually bring me joy that he passed away I just don’t care.

ITWire is reporting that a former Apple security employee has explained away the mystery by pointing to something of a loophole in California law, one that he says Jobs took advantage of to legally drive without a plate. The New York Times has identified the statute as California Vehicle Code No. 4456, which says that a new vehicle can be driven for up to six months without license plates. (Although the newspaper goes on to explain that the law is changing to shorten that period to three months in July 2012.)

So Jobs’ grand act of defiance was made possible by simply leasing a new car every six months.

But before we close the books on the license plate issue, we’d like to perhaps see some more evidence. If Jobs indeed acquired a new car every six months, we’d have to assume that sometime in 2009 he started driving something other than an SL55 AMG. It went out of production in 2008, and was replaced by the 2009 Mercedes-Benz SL63 AMG. Yet we’ve seen photos of what is said to be Jobs’ 2007 SL55, reportedly with over 21,000 miles on the odo in summer 2010.

Perhaps this is just another case of Steve’s “reality distortion field,” persisting even after his death.

I guess I will post this in both Jobs threads

You are free to travel, on your own property.
You are free to travel abroad, where US law is not enforced.
You are not free to travel on my property or the state’s property.

This man makes some excellent points.

THERE WERE NO PERSONAL COMPUTERS BEFORE JOBS AND WAZ

Saying you’re “glad” would suggest you do care. Anyhow, I didn’t really think you threw a party to celebrate his death. LOL

Weren’t the Altair and a couple others running BASIC before Apple?

Basic doesn’t look all that “personal” to me. LOL.
All BS aside how anyone could want to debate the tech icon status of Gates/Woz/Jobs is beyond me. Would someone have ended up doing what they did, probably. Did they, nope!
Strike first, strike hard.

Blue Eyes do you know someone personally or are you talking about Badnarik’s book? He was talking about the same thing. Not needing a title if you pay cash and whatnot.
