STOLEN CAR: '66 Corvette

This is a coworker of mine. This guy spent years restoring the car himself. Aside from having huge monetary value, there’s a ton of emotional value as well. He only recently finished the car and FINALLY had it out for a cruise just to have it stolen. It was taken from the Applebee’s in Batavia.

If you have any information whatsoever or might have seen the car, please contact the police or even just post up. It would be great to return this thing to its rightful owner.

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I have of the car at the moment. If I find more I’ll post them…

Saw this on the news last night. Sucks. Hope it was insured.

Are these easy to hot-wire or something?

Any car from the 60s is easy to hot wire unless it has been modified in some way to prevent this.

as if we needed one more reason not to go to applebees.

damn. I hope he gets it back in one pc.

I love how the news article i read said it was missing. like it ran away or was misplaced

And that it happened 3 weeks ago. That’s going to make it a bit tougher, I would imagine.

That sucks.

Even if it was insured, there’s a good chance that he had it insured on a standard policy which would only give him a portion of what the car is actually worth. I hate seeing these kinds of stories.

It is probably already on a boat.

I think this guy could be a person of interest.

I doubt that, seems like everyone I know with classics uses agreed value through like grundys or hagertys.

You’d be surprised…

I can say every single person I know with a classic doesn’t use standard insurance.
So, I would be surprised.

Well, yes. But, to their defense, they aren’t insurance agents. For the most part, people don’t understand how insurance actually works. I’d like to think that’s why I am of service to them, otherwise they would just do it themselves.

I don’t want to get too off-topic here, I just started a thread about this insurance actually.

I can second this.

More like crapplebees… I just read this today on a mustang page, I kno a corvette on a mustang page. Hope it comes back safely for the owners sake.

Applebees? Batavia?

The car is probably on state Street in pieces

That’s pretty scary.
