if money has cleared on the banks end from a dealer, and then the dealer stops payment is it to late?
i wouldnt think the bank would refund the money to the dealer after it cleared.
What exactly do you mean? The dealer issued a check and placed a stop? Or you issued a check to the dealer and placed a stop?
fyi, most likely is there is a stop on a payoff there may be p[enalties as per the contract of the loan
Seems to me once it’s cleared, it’s been paid. Can’t stop something that’s already happened.
also have to watch, if you stop payment and don’t take care of it, checks over $300 are grand larceny which is a felony, which means they will take your ass straight to jail.
dealer paid off my car, for a trade in but decided to return the truck, and the bank is posting the car as paid off on my accout via phone and internet.
