MY aunt had an african grey. She never had to shoot it though, its wings had something done to it so it could hardly fly. She had to buy a new telephone every couple of months though because it would immitate the telephone sound. Then eventually they started buying 2 telephones so that they would both ring and they would know it was a phone call when they heard 2 phones ringing… birds can immitate that too. She got rid of it because of that.
did she shoot it then?
well that sure was an interesting read… go bird!
sorry to hear…but I know I wasnt there but…to shoot it to save it??? Wasnt there any other way? Good luck
Should have thrown a rock at it.
the tree was half a football field high. Again, it was the LAST option. If the bird would have flew away it would have been dead for sure. Animal control was there as well and helping us think of ANY other options.
No one mentioned a rubber BB like in kids guns? they’ll fit in most regular BB guns and probably would not of injured it asmuch
“you’ll shoot your eye out”
Tranquilizer???
should have cut the tree down, it would have been less painful for the bird.
As soon as the bird recovers from the shooting hes gonna start his next album, get rich or die flyin.
hahahahahahahahahahahahahash you were thinkin of that one since you read the first post werent you?
Why prolong it’s death using a pellet gun you should’ve used a 12 guage and got it over quicker.
Seriously though maybe you should of got a pump action bb gun and shot it with 2 or 3 pumps using a bb, it probably would of scared it out of the tree.
thats what i was thinkin since the beginning. i guess its true great minds do think alike
I just talked to the owner and the bird is doing great. He has eaten 3 times since we took him in and they are going to do a more detailed analysis of him later on today. We may be getting him back as soon as this afternoon. Saweet. We might just keep him for the pet store now, but his flight feathers are getting clipped ASAP. No more crazy days for him.
Glad to hear that he’s doing good. He should be real easy to train now. When he acts up just point a gun at him and I’ll bet he’ll change his tune.
