lol pete gear sets are sick, 1st to 3rd is all i will need for drifting for what i want to do, once im in gear tranny should hold up to the power
Helical gears are also used over straight because the are less noisy when engaged. All reverse gears in manual transmissions are straight, that is why you hear that distinctive sound when you reverse.
with that power 4th gear is a drift gear
do it, sick as fuck
Enjoy daaaa paaaain
grinding gears could jsut be syncro’s. very interesting read. and to link^^ omg sick!
ive seen that video before, insane hes passin on the outside like its nothin
That was sick but i would need to get hearing aides after driving that shits soo high pitch
helical gears are cut on an angle to give more surface area so they can stand up to more torque. More surface area = less chance of breaking… plus its alot more quiet
1st gear straight cut for drifting is an absolute waste. You need 2nd through 4th.
chad ur car still not ready? o__O
the type of gear has nothing to do with engagement, Helical gears are in street cars because they are quieter no other reason, that wierd whirrrrr noise going in reverse is because the reverse gear is always a straight cut gear
Helical gears = Quieter= More load on the bearings in the tranny on high horsepower apps
Straight cut gears = louder = considerably less load on bearings in tranny
