no bitching here :dunno: i think you’re just looking for an arguement.
WRONG!!!
some of these guys don’t live ‘in’ pittsburgh
sounds like it’s the one you aren’t good at :kekegay:
no you def were
I guess thats based on what your opinion of good is. Do I put all my money into straight line…no. I build balance and address all areas to the extent money will allow. I have had several 13 second honda’s on street tires which I think is admirable for a street car in an NA application. I could have built for all out acceleration and gone with a forced induction setup considering the total investment I had in the car but chose not to. Like I said, I have had Fbodies, and two DSM’s (I actually had a T/A and a CRX at the same time…I chose to sell the T/A). I merely like the nimble feel of a lighter car plain and simple. Fact is though its snowing outside and nothing is going to happen now. My post was in now way meant to start some gay arguement of which is better rear drive or front drive, or V8’s or 4 cyl., or this or that. My original post was intended to hopefully create some interest in a spring time pittspeed beaver run meet, have an official UNBIASED time keeper and basically race the clock. Have a signup then post the winners based on lap times, on the site for some bragging rights.
I just found it funny one day when I was watching this show…they have 5 professional drag racers race each other in autocross. Man, I was starting to think they should have thier licenses revoked it was such a mess. Like I said, acceleration is just one piece of the pie, on a road course it takes alot more to cut it. Fast is great but if it can’t stop then in my opinion its all but junk if its a streetcar. I guess I just see alot more accomplishment in building a car that is superior on multiple levels than just being good on one axis. I am DEFINITELY game for a Beaver run day thats all I am sayin, we’ll see whats what then.
It would be cool to have some kind of Pittspeed “car Olympics” - 1/4 mile, skidpad, slalom, track. Setup some kind of points sytem. Maybe make the rules that you can’t change the car setup for different events - have to run the same tires, suspension setup, etc. for all events so you’d have to weigh the pros & cons of your setup. Not sure where we could do skidpad & slalom though, unless Beaver Run would throw it in with a track day - I think they have a big open area.
i agree w/ u to an extent here. but i would rather just buy a car thats made to race/be competitive on all levels, stock :kekegay: i know, i know :v8killer:
your ‘tone’ , to me, sounds like you are calling people out… don’t try to play Mr. Innocent.
i’m game for any kind of racing.
nope just making a reference to a tire :clit:
pittspeed olympics sounds awesome to me!!!
x2…sounds that way to me also. there r alot of ppl on here that r into more than just dragracing…both domestic and foreign. i know you r claiming to have a versitile overall performing car (engine, suspension, brakes, etc…), but there r some domestic guys on here that primarily drag race, but would prob surprise you at Beaver. Beaver has alot of area for 'Stangs and F-bodys to reel your ass in big-time on the straights (and still slow down for turns  ), so i wouldnt be all that confident if i were u. i give u props though, because i do think its cool to focus on more than just drag racing.
That is actually a pretty good idea.
yeah i can see that flying
dont forget OFF-ROADING & TOWING!!
ZR2 owns you :kekegay:
not BRING IT!
i dont want to get it dirty :greddy: :kekegay:
jk
take its shorts off! :blue:
I’ll see if I can come up with some kind of basic layout for it, maybe start a new thread. Points would have to be weighted so one event isn’t dominant, maybe based on a range of time with points assigned based on where you fall in that range. I’ll see what I can come up with then everyone can comment.
I would love to do something like that. I think I can hold my own at autocross…but I know off the line at drag racing I suck ass. Ohh well I just love to have an LEGAL excuse to beat the piss out of my car.
