i was working on my car today, and saw that water bypass valve on my cai broke again. so i went to get a piece of 3" hose to go in place of it. while i was taking the bolt off that held my cai in place, the screw end stripped. it is in a very tight spot between the fender well and strut bar, so there is not a lot of room to try and break it with pliers(i tried for 10 minutes). i have a dremel, but there is no outlet outside my complex, and really dont want to buy a 100ft. extension cord for nothing. are there any other ways to break the bolt so i can put a new one on???
pics to get a better idea please.
What kind of Head is on it?
Also, What Diameter Bypass Valve are you using? I have an AEM 2.75" ID Bypass I will let go for a few bucks…brand new…It didnt fit my intake.

thanx, but im in philly for a few more weeks, and i had to get my car running again. its a nismo cai, which is a aem rebranded.
anyway, i took a hack saw blaed, broke off a piece and used that. it took me about 20 minutes because of the angle of the bolt. then i went to pep boys and bought a 3" tube from their ghetto do it yourself air intake section. the only thing i like about it is its red, so it adds a little color to my engine. but i wasn’t paying $80 for another bypass from nissan, so i took mine off for good. this is the 2nd time it cracked in 6 months.
I’ve been running a fenderwell for many years now without any kind of bypass. Unless you like to drive thru several feet of standing water you’ll be okay
cool, i was worried about that
