Im pretty sure ALL coupe sunroofs stop 2/3 of the way, at leat mine does, then just re-press the close button and it goes all the way.
Im sure you tried that, so what youre saying Theo is that once it stops 2/3 of the way, it wont go any further back… hmm well thats a new one, never heard of anything like that.
Ok, so I opened the sunroof in my s13 coupe to pass a whoolie to my buddy that was standing outside. When I went to close it, it stopped about 2/3rds closed.
I haven’t looked into it much yet but it is almost like the sensor thinks it is closed, as the motor stops. It will open all the way up, but when I go to close it, it will stop at the exact same spot every time, even if I help it along with my hand.
The sun-roof is two-stepped. Holding it down to close it it will get near the
very end and then stop. You have to release and press the close button
again to fully close it.
I tried that, I tried a bunch of different things last night… I should go out and try it again… hopefully it will work for me. It has worked fine in the past.
Thanks for the replies guys, keep the suggestions coming.
meh duct tape and card bored are awesome inventions, but if u wana do it seriously u have to use the tig or oxy torch and use the forming wheel to make a piece of metal to go where the existing sunroom is and brace the rest of the roof so it doesn’t deform. it dose work iv seen it don’t b4 u can do it real pro u just have to watch for warping in the metal due to the heat… and be good with the dremal and sand cloth so make it seamless.
