i wrecked my t/a in washington pa [south of pittsburgh] on 79N doing about 50…hit black ice and bounced off a gaurd rail. Luckily I only hit the rear quarter which got hammered out/bondo’d and painted back to perfection that spring. I learned a hard lesson-buy a beater when you get here and you’ll really REALLY thank yourself.
I agree with the whole, if you’re not acustomed to driving in bad weather with RWD, then get something a bit more easy to drive. You’d hate to learn your driving lessons for the first time in a nice car.
Welcome…I am graduated from Pitt as well…ton of ass there so enjoy it. I would go for a stick…auto’s are nice if you plan on sitting in a lot of traffic tho

I too have been driving a stick for around 6 years… I agree it gives you soooo much more control in bad weather- I’ll never have anything else for my winter driving.
welcome. if you live on campus u wont hardly ever need to drive. get stick, let it sit when its snowy.

Manual trans… holy F, I took my drivers test in one when I was 16, you just have to learn how to drive it and then anything else is an excuse

1.) A beater is a car that might not be your first pick to drive, but it runs and gets you to where you need to go rain, snow or shine.

i work for a delivery company and we deliver out to Pitt all the time, plenty of fine looking girls running around there. ive been to a few decent parties as well.

I love any manual car. But take into consideration your plans for the vehicle… Automatics will positively outshift and manual driver anytime. Automatic is the way to go for your straigh line racing if thats what your in to. In crappy weather auto or stick really doesnt make a difference in a car like that. I have a 95 Mustang Gt auto and in the rain it sucked and when I got stuck in the snow a few times unfortunately it was an aweful experience. I feel that manual give you more control over a car in situations like that.
