Super Charger Help

I have been driving this 2001 Nissan Frontier Crew Cab with the factory super charger on it and I feel its lagging. I dont get that super charger whine that I want so bad and was expecting unless its under a heavy load. I was looking originaly for a Non SC version but this thing is gutless. I would like to change the pulley on it from a Ebay company called Pulley Boys. It allows you to interchange the pulley from stock to 2 diffrent sizes. But I can not find any open source or tuning software for nissan and this truck by any manufatures.

As far as mods go I have a CAI and a CB exhaust going on soon. but I know if I put pulleys on the truck I am going to need a tune. Please help if anyone has any leads or insight to open up some more horses thanks

as soon as you put the CAI on it should incrase to that loud whine you want. MY GTP had a low whine until my intake went on now its loud

If you don’t have whine with an intake you are probably not going to get it. The smaller pulley only made the whine come earlier and maybe a little bit louder. I’m guessing it is a positive displacement right? I know my Eaton was very very loud after an intake. The new model is supposed to be very quiet though.

Yeah but I just seem to be lacking even power I have the records to show its a new Nissan supercharger with only 30k on if that with new knock sensor and bypass valve. I know placing a smaller pulley will bring boost faster and a bit higher but I need some way of tuning it and nobody makes a tuner for the 01 models

I would not put a small pulley on this thing without tuning it.

I’m not sure how stout these motors are, or if they are even changed at ALL over the NA motors…

Sounds like a recipe for disaster, you are never going to make this thing fast even with a pulley.

Change all the fluids, change the blower fluid (if its an eaton roots blower that I think it is), tune it up, and keep driving it.

I had a Tbird supercoupe with a custom intake, and a small blower pulley, the thing sounded like a impact wrench when you stepped on the gas. The older m90 roots blowers sound real neat.

Then I had a vortech v8 thunderbird, and that v1 supercharger sounded like a turbo up high. Totally different sound.
