I am not going to get into details on a for sale thread but long story short I want to sell the bike and invest into something else. Thus up for sale is my 07 SMR 510.
It has a current 4500 miles on the odometer, fresh fluids (including a tank of sunoco 93), and safe tread on front and rear tires. Aftermarket mods include an integrated LED tail/brake/signal light and a “power up kit” which removes the emissions hardware and re-jets the carburetor accordingly. I also added bar end sliders to the Azonic handlebars. It has a GPR Steering Stabilizer. There are sliders on the front and rear axles as well.
Not really much else. I maintained it well with oil changes every 500 miles, valve checks every 1000 (which I just checked at 4250 to find intake and exhaust within spec), air filter clean/re-oil every oil change, and also a lubrication of the chain and check on all fluids as needed.
Power-wise, it RIPS. Crack the throttle in 1st and the bike is up in the air for the rest of the 5 close-ratio gears. It has a 6 speed manually shifted transmission with a comfy hydraulic clutch.
PRICE-wise, well, that’s up to you really. PM me if you are genuinely interested and we can go from there.
So in conclusion, if you are a SERIOUS BUYER, then PM me an offer. Come check it out, ride it, do a wheelie on it, I don’t care (don’t ABUSE the damn thing, then I won’t be very happy).
Here’s a few pictures to give you a rough idea on how clean this motorcycle really is:
Just some friendly advice- I hope you don’t take it the wrong way. It would probably help your sale if you stuck a price on there. This doesn’t seem to be a common make or bike type and although someone who knows these bikes would know the value.
Not including a price might isolate the person who has interest in the bike but has no idea of the actual value so he/she skips about thinking about it altogether.
Also, the statement “any less than what I owe on it” is really kind of confusing… I mean, it’s possible to owe more than the car/bike/TV is actually worth, with interest and all. Even for a bike worth, say $10,000, the potential buyer has no clue if you owe $50 to the bank on it, or you owe $10,900 on the bike.
Good luck with the sale though, cool looking bike…
Did you take the steering stabilizer off? I didn’t see it in the listing but see its on in the photos. Its a MUST-HAVE for setting down wheelies at 70+mph IMO…
I probably should hold off until the Spring. My reason being is I plan on taking the majority of the bike apart and cleaning every little nook and cranny until the bike looks showroom fresh again.
I’d do it now, but since it’s sitting right in my garage I always get tempted to take it on quick little blasts around town (despite the cold), and it always ends up getting dirty again. :lol
