Surround Sound+ Car audio

Ok well ill start out and say over the prevous year I have been suffering with a lil subwoofer that came with my surround sound and every time the bass hits its quieter than my farts, enough said…I want to hook up a car sub that will hit decently in a open space (my room) prefferablly ported. how can i hoop up a amp,sub to my surround sound so I can get some boom boom in my room?

u want to put a car sub in your home?

umm why, just go buy a decent sub thats actually made for a room

i listen to lots of music and horror movies and i want the bass louder…and durring the winter monthes im kinda on a budget sooo im trying to get of as cheap as possible:)

I did this once when I was young and dumb. Bought a power inverter…hooked up my car amp to the inverter…powered my subwoofer.

Was not worth the effort.

Go buy a quality home theatre unit.

i think my home theatre system was like 200$ or something, its not amazing but it will sound a lot better than a car sub lol

it depends a lot on the positioning of speakers

hm…kk

i actually had a car sub hooked up but not amped and it sounded really good but i want it to be strong so now i wanna amp it:)

Possible yes, will it sound good no, but it will be loud…er.

Get a computer power supply rated for the right amount of watts, they put out 12 volts. hook up amp to outputs of power supply, connect rcas and there ya go.

One of my co-workers did it. with 2 JL audio 12" W3’s

Why don’t you just upgrade the sub that came with your surround? Mine had a cheap 8" that was shot so i bought an audiobahn 8" for under $50. It was more than enough for a home theater system.

hmm…ok i like that idea ill try that thanks!

Mixmastermike:I like louder bass… a lot louder
and i have a big azz room 2

i throw my subs in my house for the winter and use them with my home theatre, but i have a

800 watt peavey commercial series power amp lol, sounds great.
running 2 alpine type r 12’s at 4ohm 400 watts each
only cost me 50 bucks used at guitar center, all together i think i have 1600 watts or so with my surrounds and subs, i like loud music lol :headbang:

dam it thats the kinda thing i need hmm…

Logitech Z5500

188w subwoofer

This is the right channel in my room (yes that’s a logitech sub on the right, z5300 to be exact)

…only downside is that sub is around 150lbs. and the main is close to 70lbs.

thats a lil too crazy i dnt want 2 make the foundation of my house fall apart …

Another Option…if you wanna go balls to the wall
