Oh, ok. I thought it would be something off the wall.
It did look real clean when I drove by.
:nod the big difference in that the diesels use the injection pump as the throttle to control engine rpm.
This car is so sexy i go monday to talk to my dads friend at the dealer so excited :banana
some new numbers after installing our 3" downpipe, a little more boost and a tune on hp tuners.
360 ftlbs and 275whp
muthereffers.
Nice! THe new Cobalt seems to respond well to minor mods
sweet!
Do you think the 3" downpipe is a little too much for the OEM turbo? I only ask because it looks like if boost onset has been shifted to the right a bit. I wonder if a 2.25 or 2.5 would better serve the car? Either way that’s a lot of power from a downpipe and a reflash. How much boost before/after?
The factory downpipe is 3" too, but is full of convertors…
The midpipe is 3 inch also but reduces down to 2.5 inch farther back.
Morgan or Mike can confirm but I think boost spikes to 21 and holds @ 19. Obviously not in its efficiency range anymore so a different turbo is in the works.
Wow the new Cobalts must be really fast with just a few mods. :runaway
the graph is somewhat decieving. the reason it comes on later is because we werent loading the engine up as much on the tuned runs due to a certain issue with the ECU at sustained higher boost levels for which we have a fix on the way.
like paul said the stock downpipe is actually 3". we just removed the cats. still has the stock 2.5" mandral bent exhaust on it.
holy ko-x torque spike! :ohnoes thats why k03/k04s are known as the rod benders
Good info. Does the ECU have a factory set “cut” that effect certain load blocks? I know I had that problem on a few cars I’ve tuned where in very specific load ranges the fuel or boost cut set by the ecu would cause funky things to happen.
wow, impressive. i really like that torque.
I think my throttle position sensor is fubared… everytime I get into high RPM’s and go WOT (or damn close) the CEL comes on and the thing goes into limp mode :angry2 So gay… all happened right after I put my 3" pulley on (and before I got it tuned… I drove it around with just the pulley on slowly and it came on.) Now I have 42’s and a better version of the stage 2 tune and its still being a cunt. I heard you have to chance the p0068 to enable at 8000rpms but with the GM tune I think they already addressed that.
Holy fucking thread jack. :nono Anyway, the SS/T is sick… glad to see somebody is putting the time and effort into domestics for once :giggedy
nice how much boost did you say 19#? besides some traction issues GMs BACK
VERY nice numbers, im very impressed
~22-23psi
I say its time for a Intense Racing stage 3 :banana
pulled the old crappy k04 off today. soon to be the new home of a nice gt2871. maybe some pictures to come.
