welcome to pretty much all big financial institutes. And the high profile accounts you’re refering to are the “Premier” accounts. People with good credit, lots of cash, and alot of accounts.

HOWEVER, HSBC’s fraud department is awesome and they have caught everything before I have and I review my accounts daily.
Their customer service is perfectly fine IMO, I’ve called many times always get someone that speaks decent english and helps me out. They’ve removed every single overdraft, late fee or anything I’ve ever had too.
