the car is an animal on the track, the LSD, the TQ. the only downfall is the brakes. they are very big to go along with its large curb weight. definitely need to install brake ducts and better pads, rotors, fluid and lines but that goes for any car seeing track duty.
i piloted mine to 3rd in class in STU(an AWD dominant class) at the 2007 Florida State Championships w/ Equippe Rapide. my car had a cat-back, and a CAI only at the time compared to the VERY well prepared Robispec cars of John Lawson(04 STi) and Ronald Assee(06 Evo)
i miss mine, but when i drive my STi i just remember how much better the 100K mile warranty is.
The MS3 is sweet. Me and my dad test drove it. Definitely give it a thumbs up. I don’t think the gas mileage is too good though. A WRX would be nice too.
The 09 wrx and MS3 are VERY similar. Both pack a punch, and have about the same amount of space. If the price was the same, the WRX would win due to AWD, and subaru reputation.
With the MS3 being a little cheaper, and me not needing AWD, I would probably get it to save some money over the 09 wrx.
I’ll be honest though, I have been leaning toward just buying a used STi. It’s in a whole different league.
Yeah don’t think I will have the time/$ to setup properly for Dunnville, maybe I can out to a road course at some point this year but its not looking all that good.
My winter ambition is to get it ready for track days next year (god summers are too short here!)
