I think anyone making that much money isn’t being told they can’t afford anything Sonny. I’d trade my work at much less than that for the $250k job that taxes more, anyday. I’d still have way more money than I do now.
The thing I find funny now is that McCain talked so much about “Joe the Plumber” but I read today that the dude’s first name isn’t Joe, he isn’t a licensed plumber, and he owes back taxes in the state of Ohio. In addition, he doesn’t make anything close to $250k, and with his income, would make out better under Obama’s tax plan. Which was confirmed by republicans.
What’s interesting to me is that in doing all the online stuff that helps pick a candidate based on my views and ideals… every single one pops up Ralph Nader for me. So I may steer that direction now after I do some more research.
We have an incredibly flawed process for presidential elections. The campaigns are so negative that the day after election day, every four years, we have a president-elect that nearly 50% of the country hates. At least the Smith dinner was funny.
