its pricey, so make sure to budget quite a bit extra
so fas ive only paid for my gst, duty, a/c excise tax, and riv fee and im out an extra 1800. i still have to pay my pst, ownership trasnfer, plates, tags, saftey and e-test, federalization fee, daytime running lights, tps sensor replacement, and then stuff for a tune up (plugs, wires, oil, filter, ect ect)
ide do it again tho
i got mine for a good price since it needs a tps and has a few paint knicks, but def. not under 13k - ive only seen salvage title evo’s under 13k (as low as 10k for ab VIII and up to 15k for a IX or MR)
and yeah, the gtr spun a bearing. i had a backup motor ready, but when i realized i could import something new th decision to sell it was easy. plus skylines are becoming a dime a dozen now.
i looked at a few scubie sti’s in the states aswell, but since we can get them here i decided to go with something different. i also looked at several 350z’s in the gta and even considered rx8’s.
i dont make bing kind of money, not even close haha
i dont claim this car to be sweet or anything. i love it and its fun.
no doubt u.s. cars are coming down in value, especially the evo’s
next summer youll see tonnes on canada selling all day long at lower prices.
ill definately lose money on it in a few years, but thats nothing new.
hell ive already planned my next car in 2-3 years once there values come down a little more.
and bing, are yo sure that car wasnt offered to you (ie. you, alone) at that price? ive been o evolutionm.net for some time now and have not seen one for 12.5K (even an 03) thats not salaged or needs alot of works.
wtf thats pretty sick bro… you got that car in canada??? you gonna be doing some amatuer rallying or auto x with that? thumbs up to you man one of my favorite cars!
i brought the car in the form the u.s.
the border agent was a real stickler
but it done with now, just gotta transfer owenrship, pay the rest of my taxes, then wait for my form 1 from the government to arrive and its ready to go
but its nothing compared to the shit i jumped when dealing with rhd’s haha
winter might come before thids thing even gets a chance to see road. i was told yesterday that sometimes it takes upto 1 month fo thr form 1 to even arrive.
get form 1, have federalization done, get dtrl, safety and e-test, pay pst, trasnfer ownership, buy plates - then shes road ready, but not done. still two other big hoops to jump through.
