If you’ve ever eaten at Ted’s Hot Dogs, you know about the deliciousness. Some of you however might not have had the privilege of meeting the staff behind the scenes. My dad went to high school with Teddy and has remained friends and a coworker ever since. Following a “change in management”, My dad along with some former employees and family members started a group on facebook to support Ted and Beth, formally of Ted’s.
If you can spread the word, about this just by joining the group and inviting people who would be interested as well. More exciting news is coming soon.
Background:
NOTICE!! Please read the following if you are familiar with Ted’s Hot
Dogs.
A few months ago, a coup d’etat of sorts took place within the family
business of Ted’s Hot Dogs. Certain family members and allies convinced an ill
and vulnerable family patriarch that they were not getting their fair
share of the riches made possible by son Ted along with the help and hard work
of his wife Beth, as well as Richard and Chuck. They were called back to
the business when it was on the brink of bankruptcy and turned the company
around to become stronger and more profitable than ever. The patriarch
(Spiro) seems to me to have been brainwashed by his ex-wife, Patty (now his
co-habitant/caretaker) along with his daughter Thecly, his first ex-wife, Marina
(Ted and Thecly’s mother), his brother Peter and their respective family
members, into believing that Ted was trying to take the business away from
him. Spiro promptly fired his son and his wife, Beth, Richard and Chuck. Now
that they have control of the business, they have already started steering
the company back towards it’s troubled times. They have also failed to
offer a “buyout” to Ted or offer any serious compensation to him or to Beth,
Richard or Chuck for what they had built the company into, pretty much
kicking them to the curb. I’m writing this without solicitation, because it
makes me sick to see how these people have been treated. Ted and Beth were
there when my family and I were in dire straits and in danger of losing our
home. They were there each time I was hospitalized, making sure we had what we needed and to assure me that I still had a job, not only waiting for me
when I was ready, but also on terms that worked for my family. There are many
other managers/employees who have similar stories and experiences with Ted
and Beth. There were some managers who were given second and third chances
(those of you who have guessed Mike Murphy would be correct) when if they
were with any other company would be in the unemployment line. Recently (February 3rd to be exact) prices were raised at all locations. This
reeks of unadulterated GREED. I’m asking everyone who reads this post to "Like
" it and join us in boycotting Ted’s until the “Spiro group” does the
right thing (extremely unlikely) or until Ted & Beth along with Richard and
Chuck can regroup and start another business reflecting the values that mean
the most to all of us. I’m also requesting that you post it to your status
as well.
