Testing the waters (Frame rails)

Oh nice they have a location in Scarborough I will check these guys out.

I don’t want to bend it out of once peace just because I want to have the correct shape and coverage for the frame rails. I am a perfectionist…

But you did give me an idea about how to save some time. I might be able to bend one side and weld the other. Thus allowing me to keep the shape with little waste.

as markd1 said, go to boss steel. they were very helpful, even when looking for small scrap pieces worth $20 or so. http://www.bossteel.com/

…and it’s STEEL, with 2 E’s not STEAL. STEAL is when people take your car and don’t give it back.

YEs… I believe you right and going to weld 16 gauge for the frame rail… 22 gauge would be good for the floor and or small patches

Sigh… Just Sigh… This topic is long past the thinness of steel. As well I have found a supplier. Just comes down to getting the steel making some templates and building one.

I am only able to build frame rails that i can get access to on my s13 or my buddies s13. If there are frame rails you guys want built for other parts of the car that i cant easily make a template for I may have to grab the template off of your car if its up in the air and apart.

What i will also do is even though the s13 has 22G steel near the rear of the car I will just build all fame rails from the 16G no matter its location. and reinforce the rails that need it. That means the front rails will be 16G with reinforcing just like stock. Should be like new again.

Definetly interested in these!
