A bit biased, but same here. I simply like the reliability, styling and overall build quality inside and out of a Civic('05 and earlier).
But I’d own a Neon before a Cavalier/Cobalt.

I’m not sure what civics you’re driving but everyone I’ve owned has been kinda shitty quality inside lol. I’ll agree with reliability and styling (for their respective years) though.
The fit and finish of the interior I have always liked. The flow and design of the dash. The plastics used are much better quality, seem softer and a bit more pliable than the hard and brittle GM stuff that feels like it is going to break off in your hands.

i have a base model cavalier. i would gladly take a base model civic over a base model cavalier. mostly because of the seats. my seats look like they were made out of grandpa’s sweater.
other than the fact i can’t modify my car because i would feel super gay (and it’s automatic) there’s nothing i find “wrong” with a cavalier.

Having just recently looked at many Honda’s on Cl and buying a civic, I know where you’re coming from. I bought a $950 96 civic with no Honda rot. It does have a really damaged passenger door. But $35 for a new one at m&m pull it and its golden.
Plus 35-41 MPG is amazinggggggg.
So I could see where people think they’re worth more.

The only way to get a decent Honda off CL is to check it a million times a day and call as soon as the car is listed. I found my Civic that way, and the fucker selling it started upping the price because so many people were calling. Ended up paying an extra hundred for it, but still broke completely even when I sold it 7 months later. I’ve given up finding a clean 5sp Accord wagon. They’re either beat to shit, $4000, or they look like Pep Boys threw up on them. I swear every ricer that has too many kids to fit in his Civic upgrades to an Accord wagon.
