Personally I totally love the old skool look your after with the fat tank and its stance and flow of the bike. Leaf work is such a great idea. Even if you just kept the look of the scalop on the tank sides thats there now, say the grey center was a candy red, or something and the white 1/2" around it in the pic above was the gold leaf would look tits. nice subtle and really make it pop just enough.
The blacked out everything is really hard IMO, to do and not hide the flow of the bike. The rigid rear, springer seat and small fender under it. and unless you painted or pc’d the engine, it would be all black with a big honkin silver engine in the middle and look out of place. the engine would jump out. Little contrasting colors on the tank and even the rear fender work would keep the flow of the bike when you look at it.
I’m painting the engine black. It’s way too pitted for me to try and polish it. So it’s gonna be all black with the gold leaf on the tank. No white walls either

/\ try wiring up my ducati! EFI, TPS, fuel pump, sending unit, intake air temp, injectors, coils, gauges, etc. I moved the battery, coils, ecu, etc… so everything had to be extended. I had about 20 hrs in wiring it and alot of rework becasue I thought I made a mistake and it wouldnt run. Turns out the ecu went bad when it was bumped around in storage.
I have to shorten a lot of wires. I hate wiring but I’ve gotta do it. I’m gonna learn pin striping and how to do GoldLeaf and start practicing both

I just picked up a second bike today man for a build KZ750
nice dude. I plan to bob my Shadow VLX when im done with the Maxim. ive got ALOT of ideas for it. I also have every intension of buying a new Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob at the end of this season. when I can buy a 2013 right before the 2014’s come out.
I need to go back to my brother in-laws house to sit on the bike and see how tall of handle bars I can use. I really want to go with those Z bars I posted above (the 3rd ones)

Can’t do risers. It’s not that style setup. They’re molded right to the forks.
