the car i wanna buy

hey guys wats up, im a new user and i im looking at this really beautiful car but i wanted some advice the car is miont and has a 96 silvia front clip on a 1990 frame. it has the sr20 det red top turbo engine and has a brand new spray job. the asking price is 14,000 to about 12,500tell me wat u guys think. thanks. im not sure how to post pics but gimme ure emails and i can send them to u.thanks

hey, check the frame rails for rust, make sure the suspension is worthy, it has a redtop engine so i wouldnt pay more than 8000 for it, if its low km and engine is running well than i think 8k would be worth it imo

i forgot to put the engine was just overhauled the frame is mint th enigne has like 65,000 km, it has new fuel lines new brake lines new 17 inch rims and new tires 95%.the whole car was stripped and done up the whole frame has been undercoated its pretty mint man. thanks
still think 8k is the best offer i should say.

this thread is worthless without pics.

12,500??? that is retarded My car is a 95 with a kouki frontend conversion,5lug conversion, S15 motor and alot more goodies to go with it and if I was to sell it I doubt I could get that much for it.I wouldnt pay a penny over $7500 for it.

Its a tough call when buying a car like this theres alot to look at like.
Who did the swap was it dont right or a hack job?
Was the car painted to sell or was it done right?

Myself if I was going to spend that much money I would go down south and buy one that is rust free. With all the extra money you save on the car you can build it the way you want it.It wouldnt cost you 12,500 to buy a car down there and pu a SR in it and atleast you know what your buying

thanks alot for the advice cause i really didnt know the price range for these cars and all the conversions is there any where i could go to get really good deals on the motor and a good car rust free. i know the swap was done properly and the paint is really immaculate. the guy really loves his car and he doesnt wanna sell it but he has to, he took good care of it and its very nice. can anyone tell me how to post pics of it ?

thanks matt…my girlfriend showed me how to do it using photobucket.

not worth it at all…that car is not worth more than $7000

buy mine instead: http://www.son240sx.ca/forum/viewtopic.php?t=18030

that is not a 96 silvia front, '93 at the latest.

loks not to bad from the pics but we really need to see underbody and frame pics to have a good idea.

rice alert. rice alert… does the owner actually think the shop who built his car just cut the front off and attached a silvia front clip?? seems that way from the description in trader haha.
clean but still. rice alert.

Hey man, I’ve gotta disagree. That car could be worth 8 or 10 depending on the condition of the frame.

The Silvia conversion alone will run you 1000-2000. A stock S13 with a stock SR should be around 6-8… but even then it’ll be hard to find a really nice frame.

There’s also a benefit to having a stock car… you can be a little more sure that the car wasn’t beaten on if it doesn’t have the power.

2000 for a silvia front? sorry but maybe if it came with aero and gtr grill and sqr headlights and wide fenders and delivered to your door, and installed… I might pay 2000… wait, nah maybe 15.

hence the range  Doesn’t sound like he’s the type of guy who’s going to go installing it himself. OEM hoods can be a pain in the ass to srouce too.

i didnt get a chance to get frame pics but im gonna go there on monday and put it on a hoist and take pics of underneath, the car is stock the only mod is the greddy blow off valve that he installed today. so do u think i shouls offer 9500 and say il goo as high as 10500. or not.

heh, no probs man, just clarifying for teh no0bs.

You’re the only one who can answer that, really. You could probably build the car yourself for around 8 grand. But if you don’t wanna do the work, it’s up to you to decide how much it’s worth past that. Keep in mind that mods aren’t worth even half their value new when they’re being sold on a used car.

Also keep in mind that a mint frame is a rare thing.

thats the thing…i would do the work myself because it wouldbe a nice experience but also trying to find a nice frame is a rare thing as u say. also doing the mods would run me about 8000 as u say, but add that to the price of the car i would have to buy that would be in a mint frame condintion. sop basically i tihink it would level out and all i would be missing is the experience. . but i really love the car and im seriously interested.also the owner of the car is really helping me and allowing me to pay in installments and he understands my situation and willing to work with me. but ill know how mint the frame is on monday.
