the forgotten supercar

what do you mean forgotten…everyone knows about the real moby dick…

the first awd TT porsche street car and the reason why the US now has the “Bill Gates Law”

just so you know…
the bill gates law allows for any car that can be considered a piece of history or limited production to be made road legal in the US as long as it meets the EPA standards for the year it was built. So no crashing 3 different cars for insurance company’s and the like…

Ole Bill wanted to drive his 959 around Seattle, bankrolled a congressman and got it passed.

yeah, I never forgot. Dakar rally winner (if I’m not mistaken) also the pioneer for the porsche liquid AWD system, PURE DOPE

one of my favorite super-cars ever built.

the price - $450,000 for a 1988 - shows it’s still a very wanted car.

i think i’d even take one over a new Carrera GT…but that’d be a tough choice.

the 959 is NOT the real moby dick

that is the real moby dick.

GT

no one will forget that 959.

Ralph Lauren was also one of those guys to assist that law being passed, it still took a few years even with all money behind it.

if i were Gates i would have just brought it over secretly and drive the thing around. who is actually going to give that guy a ticket or take away his car.

it would have been cheaper and easier to subtlely end the lives of all who opposed it…lol

Atta boy Greg, bringin on the 935T/C. They made a “street” version of that car but it was still just a factory race car, and most people complained that it was “impractical” (as 590hp race tuned tends to be on the streets). That truely is the real Moby Dick.

Supposedly they based the 959 on the 935 street version though. So you could call the 959 Baby Dick. … but don’t.

if the USA is anything like Canada, you would be surprised.
