The GM Recall *Now EVERY new-gen Camaro*

You probably had the TBSS built on a Friday afternoon. I leased mine for 39 months. Whacked it with a 150 wet shot of nitrous starting about a month in. It was literally in for service once, for about 3 minutes, because a fog light bulb burned out. Most reliable vehicle I’ve ever owned.

This… why wouldn’t they go this route vs a turn key. It seems like this would have been a smart move after the cobalt reports started coming in. Hell, is it really that much more to produce/is it even more money to produce?

Hahaha, must have been. I will say that truck was a blast and very quick off the showroom floor.
For the Equinox, set that thing on fire.

Will we bail them out again knowing how evil they are?

the first time he got it to shut off in that video it looked to still be in ‘on’. whereas the second two times he just turned the car off with his knee but turning the key back…

Too big to fail or too fucked up to save. Guess they flipped a coin and it landed on tails?

this is the same excuse used to keep the military industrial complex going! That’s working well for us taxpayers also!

I came in here to post about the camero recall. Someone beat me to it.

“The accumulation and the repayment of debt basically drives every economic cycle that there is.”
America is good at 1/2 the equation at least. Repayment of debt with existing money said debt represents, don’t be silly we have a virtual printing press.

yes… yes it is!

ive owned 3 GM vehicles over the years 95 cutlass, 97 gtp and 01 malibu. all of which started rotting out and breaking when not being driven lol
GM products are piles of shit wrapped in an expensive money wrapping with every worse resale value except there corvettes and even those are a joke aka crossfire injection hahahaha

I really would not be surprised. I’m curious how long they thought this one through. At least they paid the debt off before they tank themselves again. I just don’t get how a company that large has such a hard time making cars that could compete with the rest of the world.

They should have forced them to sell off/terminate all makes besides Chevy and either Buick or Cadillac. No need for everything else. Just focus on the 2, make the cars nice and move on. Stop trying to make cars for 5 different companies and fail because you spread the focus out to thin.

 At the number of people around here hoping GM fails and have no understanding of GMs total impact on the US economy.

GM ended 2012 with a profit
GM ended 2013 with a profit

Agreed. And not just the US market… Head over to Asia, there’s a LOT of final GM products, not to mention supply chain.

Not to mention IF they had let GM go under, there would’ve been a significant not only to WNY, but to more than a few people on this forum. Just remember that every time you said you wish they had gone under, you’re wishing your fellow board member to be fired/let go from their jobs; some of the few remaining good paying “blue collar” jobs in the area.

I just don’t understand how people can keep supporting a company when a. There are so many other (and better) options, b. Covered up a known, deadly problem for over a decade

It’s kind of insanity.

people will find other jobs. You can’t keep helping out a continually failing company simply because they have a lot of employees.

Toyota to pay US $1.2 billion for deadly defect coverup

Ford Escape Recall May be a Cover-Up for Negligence

I get a lot of you love imports and have some blind hatred for GM but you can can find cover ups and negligence from just about any large corporation in america at some point in their history.

If you’re comparing MODERN GM vehicles to MODERN vehicles from other manufactures including imports the quality is on par…yea I get it GM made shitty cars in the 90s and so did just about every out domestic manufacturer.

Blind hatred?!? That’s funny. They’re awful, murdering vehicles? Plain and simple

so tell my why you have an unwavering urge to defend this company? I mean, i hate baseball but I enjoy the Red Sox because my grandpa was a die hard fan. But I won’t spend any money on tickets, hats, ect… Just kind of nostalgic for me. Maybe that’s why you guys are so in love with the general. Your dad or someone had some siq auto c3 corvette or something

Because you have 0 understanding of the role GM plays in the US economy?

I would rather see them slowly correct their business model which they have been doing.

I think it was impossible for them NOT to turn profit considering the amount of money they were given/loaned.

Seriously.

My wallet is fat as fawwwwwq

Edit: honestly since all the recalls and the mess the new CEO is cleaning up, more cars have been sold and the price per share has shot up.

What’s happening is when someone drops off their vehicle for a recall repair they’re given a new car. The majority of the people end up buying that car.

I just hopped into a 2014 Regal Turbo, fucking love it, best car I’ve ever owned with an engine built right here in Tonawanda
