The I'm still in college because I don't want to get a real job yet thread

lol. but when i got hired that was the only degree i had, along with my mechanical background. they liked me i guess. knowing how to nal an interview and dress correctly helped aswell. but after i was here for about 6 months, i took the exam to get into the Machinist Apprentice program. It was the quickest way to the top, so i took it and did very well. i once again had to go through another interview process, and the accepted me. they lower your pay to the lowest floor worker rate and send you to hvcc for another 2 yr degree. go to school for 4 days a week and train at work for one day. you have to maintain a b average nd graduate. and you also have to get signed off on a slew of machines at work, then they bring the rate back up to what the entry rate would be for a machinist, then you start your progression to the top rate (one rate every 6 months) while they watch your progress and quality of work. they didnt hire me to be a machinist dude. it was a long process.
