THE **iPhone** Thread (GPS, JailBreak, Apps, Etc)

I tried lying but the water sensors were tripped anyways :frowning:

Suppose to get more in stock tomorrow depending on holiday, but if it’s clearly used or damaged at all I’m going back to Verizon. I don’t know what condition the refurb’d phones are in but I’m not paying $200 for a piece of crap. I’ll get out of my contract and into another phone for that price.

Apple refurbs look top notch in all my experiences.

Electronics usually have little stickers on the inside and they change colors once moisture was present. That way they know if there was water damage.

there are no stickers inside on the iphone that change color, its sensors

Interesting. I haven’t had the need to open an iphone yet. Maybe they could bring the cost down if they used stickers over a sensor then? :stuck_out_tongue:

the people dont have a clue whats is going on as it is so i would not expect them to know how to even open an iphone

Yea the sensors turn pink. There’s two external and two internal.

It’s actually fairly easy to take apart.

A step towards flash on the iPhone… someone has written a runtime for Flash in Javascript.

http://github.com/tobeytailor/gordon/tree/master/demos/

You can look through the code and its pretty much a javascript instance that loads a flash movie.

Boy would I be pissed if I just bought a 3GS and this was true about the new iPhone: http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2010/01/18/apple-tablet-iphone-launch-confirmed-january/

So whenever people from verizon send me picture messages, I don’t get the picture at all. Is there something with the plan that would stop that? Or is something random wrong?

Any reliable info about what “iPhone 4” is supposed to do?

ISSUE:

-Phone is jailbroken with Blackra1n, has been for a while, no problems

-Went to uninstall Facebook app this morning, phone started acting glitchy after (taking way too long to load things, freezing, ect)

-Did a hard reset on the phone, but now it won’t turn back on

-Only gets to the silver apple logo, stays on it for about 20-30 seconds then blacks out again.

I know my phone has a full charge, and whenever I connect it to the computer to restore it on itunes, it doesn’t even get picked up by itunes.

WTF?

Time for a DFU mode restore.

Yep…that’s what I just did :frowning: Lost all my shit but it works.

Sync your phone daily and you wont have this problem. iTunes makes backups of your stuff so when you reinstall the OS on it, set it up as a backup and poof… all your contacts, settings, apps, and media are back on it.

I never go on the computer, at most maybe 2 times a month

Yeah, I’ve started being a lot better about keeping my phone synced and making sure to install my cracked IPA’s in itunes.

You can install Indian Pale Ales on itunes? Maybe it’s not as gay as I thought! :jawdrop:

Holy hell I need a beer. Stupid flying bison thread.

OK sorry for interrupting your iphone thread.

The iPhone has really ramped up my contact list and phone backups. I have been better at not only keeping phone numbers and names updated with the proper info and backed up but also including addresses and emails help emailing them popup better in exchange emails.

Also Bump is the coolest app ever for business people wanting to exchange contacts.

say goodbye to installous

Can’t believe it lasted as long as it did. And lol at the dumbass thinking he would stand a chance in court. I would have loved to listen to that meeting with his lawyer.
