the switch puts it in vibrate mode though. so my phone still vibrates when I get calls?
Ya it will still vibrate which you can turn off in the settings.
Also, ProSwitcher + Backgrounder is amazing. Really stable and gives you the background ability with a palm pre like interface. Also has some sweet memory management things so if you are running low it auto closes some apps.
ok, so if I were to use silent mode for alarm only;
that would mean the regular function would have to be vibrate only, with none of these bullshit sounds.
but I can’t turn off these bullshit sounds. the ringer, when placed with volume all the way down, still sounds.
wtf
Looks like I’m going to get to try a 3g screen replacement. A friend of mine had his crack in about 30 places when he dropped it and doesn’t want to pay the $199 the apple store charges for the repair. Told him to order one of the kits for $30 and we’d swap it out.
have fun…it sucks bad
Can anyone show me some directions on how to get music OFF my i touch? i had put my music onto an external hd before reinstalling windows, and that hd wont turn on anymore, so my music is basically gone.
I found a few sites where you can buy a program that will do it and directions on how to get music off of a non itouch ipod, but nothing to help me, I have about 600 songs on there. this one program wanted me to transfer 10 songs at a time. If that program can access it, why cant I?
You need to find a crack for one of the programs. None of the free ones I found have the ability to pull music off yet.
I just did this with a free program with my iPhone. I’ll see if I can find the link.
<EDIT>
This pulled 1000+ songs off my iphone with no problem…Even put them in artist and album folders
Wow nice. Didn’t realize they have 3.0 support but def just tried it.
thank you baby jesus!
this might work too
I use that to put files on my phones filesystem but they don’t support music copying in 3.X yet
BMW M POWER APP = FREE
BMW releases free M Power app for the iPhone

BMW M Power app for iPhone – Click above for gallery of screen shots
The Apple iPhone has a built-in accelerometer that rather accurately detects even the slightest motions. Developers have been quick to create applications that capitalize on the iPhone’s hardware, including software that helps enthusiasts obtain g-force and 0-60 times from their phone. We’ve tested a few ourselves and they work pretty well, although most of these apps come at a cost, ranging from $4.99 to $10 or more. If you like the idea of timing your vehicle with the aid of an iPhone but don’t want to pay for an app, BMW has a free solution for you.
It’s called the M Power Meter and does most things those paid apps can do, but it’s free and also very easy to use. Simply download the software from the app store [iTunes link], place your phone upright in a cup holder or flat in the direction you intend to drive, hit start, accept the terms and go. The M Power Meter defaults to timing a jaunt from 0-50 km/h, but you can change that by clicking on settings and choosing from several acceleration options up to 200 km/h or distances ranging from 100 meters to 2,000 meters. We downloaded the M Power Meter app and found it worked fairly well for being free and nearly as good as those apps we spent a few bucks on in the past.
If you have an iPhone and a car, test it out for yourself (without breaking the law or doing anything that could endanger yourself or others, natch) and tell us how well it worked by heading over to the Comments section. It’s free, so it couldn’t hurt to give it a whirl.
Nice. The only app I’ve ever paid for was the dyno one though so I’ll just keep using that.

Need A Loan At 3000% Interest? There’s An App For That!
So my iphone made it into the washing machine and got full of water. I pulled it apart to dry it off and it doesn’t turn on.
I assume the “genius bar” will realize it was full of water, so im wondering how much they are going to charge me for a new phone? 16g 3Gs…
Without a new contract they are gonna hit you for $599, assuming you had no warranty coverage.
Wound up getting an appointment for tonight and I can get a refurbished for $199, which they don’t even have in stock…
It’s either that or full price as you said, $599. fuck.
Wow ouch that sucks Jason
