I will have to check it out. Multifl0w had protential but def see the resource hog. I love backgrounding my Sirius app so I can still do other stuff.
Ya the CEO spoke of that yesterday and was up everywhere. I know even Verizon caps their “Unlimited” plans at a invisible 5GB per month barrier too but still, its retarded that you pay $30 a month to access their data network and can’t use it. I rack up about 6-8GB a month depending on how much I travel and that is purely to the phone. Between emails, web browsing, getting my outlook voicemails in my inbox, apps, and sirius I def use a lot driving around and at my desk.
This is why I am holding out till the summer to buy my next iPhone:
Firmware 3.0 has references to iPhone 3,1 and Foxxconn apparently has received the order for hardware… crossing fingers for some truth to the speculated additions.
Following the report, the rumor mill churned with speculation about the new phone. A front-facing camera (for video calls) was a popular idea, along with a 1GHz processor, LTE support and a higher resolution display, possibly OLED… even a hardware QWERTY keyboard. Obviously, at this point, nothing is known and little can be inferred to this sketchy assertion.
That’s fucking awesome. I was planning on holding out for the next gen anyhow, but this would def make it worth the wait.

I’ve installed the MMS and tethering hacks so both work.
My connection drops a ton. What baseband are you guys using? Having frequent drop outs as well? My prior windows mobile phone had no issues dropping signal so I imagine it’s a baseband or firmware issue.

Btw, anyone blackra1n jailbroken users noticing a big lag/freeze period lately? My phone has been slow as hell, I have no music on it and only downloaded 4 apps of relatively low space.
Blackrain 3.1.2 here and seems about as responsive as it’s always been.
Battery life seems to be getting worse but I think that’s because the phone is an original 3G and the battery is just getting old. Probably going to order a new battery soon and tear it apart.
I used fuzzyband to downgrade the baseband to 4.26.08 and then used ultrasnow to unlock the older baseband. Still dropping bars like mad. I disabled wifi just incase it was interfering and I see no difference in signal quality.
Pretty annoying. Might be getting another win mobile phone. LOL
^ Might want to restore to original and see if your drop issues go away. If they do just run blackrain to jailbreak without messing with the baseband yourself.
I work at UB and it’s damn near…correction…it IS a bomb shelter. LOL.
I get annoyed though, because with the same sim and service my HTC Kaiser had 0 no service issues except in the basement. This iphone has issues on any floor and is very sensitive. GRRRRRR
Short of trying an older OS which I’m sure won’t solve connection quality I dunno. We’re moving to the basement soon and that will totally screw any cell service. :tantrum:
Still probably worth restoring the original firmware to make sure it’s not a jailbreak or baseband issue.
WOW. Once I left the building I got much higher signal with the older baseband.
So the story ends with me getting horrible signal in UB and much better signal outside of work. At home here I’m pulling 4 bars most often now.
Seems win mobile just pulls the signal better indoors at UB.
Update----
The downgraded baseband made a HUGE difference. The data does seem to be a bit slower but it’s a ton more reliable. I even got some good signal in the basement at UB. WOWsers.
OK so I have a few questions, read a lot of the thread but some info is expired other things I wasn’t able to find the answers to.
i want to be able to rotate photos. there are a ton of apps, both free and $1-2. all have same mediocre reviews. any recommendations?
is there a setting where it won’t make any sounds/alerts, besides the alarm?
can I have pandora playing while I have other apps open (sucks on roadtrips when I click google maps and it turns off pandora). I know you can do this if its jailbroken, but I don’t really want to do that
Photoshop Mobile is free and does this along with a lot more like crop.
If you flip the switch to put it in silent mode, the alarm will still go off.
Not unless its jailbroken. No AppStore app can run in the background on its own.
