THE **iPhone** Thread (GPS, JailBreak, Apps, Etc)

oh good now you guys will be able to see what true multitasking is:P

ya and watch the battery die even faster.

lol.
My 3g has been in Multiple snow banks. Broke the screen twice and the LCD once. Dropped in the sand multiple times. etc… I’m amazed this phone is putting up with my shit. I’m already eligible to upgrade, but I’m holding out for the new release.

How has this not been posted here.

The new iPhone has apparently leaked. One of the engineers for Apple left it in a friggen bar. lol Seems like it’s the real deal. And guess what…FRONT FACING CAMERA!

At the bottom of the article there are links explaining how, when and where it was found. I wonder what’s happening to the guy that left it there. That would fucking SUCK. Apple is normally incredible at keeping things under wraps, and then he goes and screws it all up. Maybe they’ll announce very soon to try and roll with it being exposed like this.

As far as the design, I read through the articles and really thought about it before deciding that I really do like it. They say it doesn’t feel nearly as cheap as the 3g/3gs. And it looks pretty slick if you ask me. Plus it’s a bit thinner. Either way, kinda nice to know what I’m waiting for come summer. Can’t wait to upgrade.

uhh it has see a few post up

Lol this has been like 90% of Gizmodo’s articles for like a week and a half. I’m kinda sick of listening to how the iphone was lost, the new features, how Apple wanted it back…I get it. Seems like apple kinda wanted the phone to get some spotlight.

Ya I wouldn’t put it past them for being a marketing stunt. They haven’t fired the kid but they fired some iPad engineer who showed Steve Woz the iPad after midnight on its release day… Something is fishy but I really do think its at least Apples and not some shotty ripoff esp with the micro sim card that no US phone has yet.

it was an honest mistake

He didn’t purposely leave it anywhere or leak its information. If he is a good engineer, they have no reason to fire him for it.

This is Apple tho and paranoid Steve Jobs. If he was allowed to be carrying it off the campus and use it, then I see it may not be too bad for him but if any part of it says that he was not allowed to bring it out or speak about it, he may be in shit from the company.

Lol Paulo is on an island, it takes a while for info to get to him

Well, seeing as he is an engineer that works on the actual phone/calling part of the device, he was probably doing field testing. I would imagine that is why the device was disguised pretty well as an iPhone 3. Gizmodo was saying that if apple has devices that are not supposed to leave the building, they are usually mounted permanently to tables.

lol. Truth. Sorry guys.

UPDATE:
Jason Chen of Gizmodo, House searched and computers confiscated…

Last Friday night, California’s Rapid Enforcement Allied Computer Team entered editor Jason Chen’s home without him present, seizing four computers and two servers. They did so using a warrant by Judge of Superior Court of San Mateo. According to Gaby Darbyshire, COO of Gawker Media LLC, the search warrant to remove these computers was invalid under section 1524(g) of the California Penal Code.

haha

Well this is gonna get intresting…

Well, apparently it was real…

Is what he did really illegal? I can’t imagine it is.

Possibly, I wouldn’t see why it would be. Someone found the phone, tried giving it to apple, Gizmodo bought it for 5k, Reported on it and gave it back to apple.

Oh, I didn’t see that he gave it back to Apple. I wonder how much he could have made if he DIDN’T report on it, though.

Wow so I got Android to boot on my iPhone 3G. Pretty solid and can access WiFi but still buggy. Still can not get it to send commands from the OS to the baseband so that is what I have been working on so I have no cell data or calling ability.

is it true that you cannot insure the iphone?
