I ended up going to the store in OP and was in and out in like 20 mins. They gave it to me for 199 and im 15 months into my contract.
Sounds like you won’t be getting yours anywhere near the 24th though.
I’m wondering what the chances are that my order finalized at 10am on the 15th will actually get delivered on the 24th.
in the end I decided to wait and see how well OS4 works on my 3GS… I’m not sure if the upgrade is worth $200 to me. (but no question that it’s $200 better than a 3gs)

It’s being reported that if you ordered anytime after around 4:30 EST that your phone might not make it on the 24th, and be lumped somewhere between June 25th and July 5th…
dam i was about there about 630 7ish. they should have let people with iphones already order first, then allowed for everyone else that either went from a different phone or different carrier to purchase it. a benefit of already being an apple iphone owner, just saying.
While that sounds good, I am sure AT&T would rather conquest new customers than upgrade hardware for existing customers.
Oh im well aware of why they wouldnt, I was just saying it would be nice.

There are other people who “got a $199/$299 3GS phone in return for a contract for 2 years of service” who still have time left on there contract that STILL got a 4G for the $199 price. 
I went to the AT&T store today, and they said I can get a 4G for $199 with a 2 year contract. He said the upgrade status in my account was not correct.

i believe this att “bug” has happened before. well with the att home phine stuff. i remember they would call my mom and ask to pay her bill using a CC over the phone, even though the bill wouldnt be due for weeks
