Its 199/299 if you are eligible. If you just bought a 3GS or your upgrade is sometime this year, you are early upgrade and you pay 299/399 i thought.
Yea I was looking at apple and ATT after I read an article, and from what I understood it was only new customers to ATT that get the 199/299 price. I was gonna order it at 12am but ordering didn’t start til 7am, and haven’t been able to order yet due to the high volume of people trying to order.
well, finally all preordered, hopefully…
ya 199/299 is for the people who are already out of contract or new. 299/399 for people whos upgrade ended in 2010 and want to upgrade early.
That’s not true; I paid 199 and my contract isn’t up until July.
show my your source? If you’re contract ends anytime in 2010 you can get 199/299 was my understanding.

Yeah I had to go to the store too. Their system was down too so they took an old fashioned carbon copy of my credit card and will run it through the system later. ha
Along with what ever else they feel like charging to your card. 
I get a discount working for TWC the site said the upgrade was $149 for the new 16G

Last I checked I couldn’t log in and see my social security number in my account info. Worst that can happen is someone has your address and changes your account settings, even that is unlikely since refreshing or going away from the page rectified the situation apparently.
got mine for $199 and my contract isn’t up for another year. took me 5 minutes online, although it would suck if they are sold out already like the rumors say.
I got my 3GS about 8 months ago. AT&T says a full discount on an iPhone upgrade is not available. But they can “offer me a discounted iPhone upgrade at a higher price”. I went to their website, and it says $499 for a 4G 32GB with a 2 year contract. How is that even a “discounted iPhone upgrade”?
You’re 8 months into a 2 year contract that allowed you to buy a $500 device for the heavily subsidized price of $199. How much of a discount can you honestly expect?
Unless I’m missing something. They want $500 along with a 2 year contract. There was nothing that said $199 when I tried to upgrade. The guy above my post had a year left on his contract and got one for $199.
Edit: My mistake. I’ve had my 3gs for 14 months.
You already got a subsidized phone in return for a contract for 2 years of service. So you already got a $500 phone for $199.
Now you want to back out, they offer you a reduced price $499 (which is reduced), learn to read, and you don’t think its reduced enough? You think you deserve to pay $199, which is offered as an incentive to sign up for new service…that you’re already locked in to?
