Mine is shipping UPS as well. Currently in transit to be delivered as of 630AM this morning.
Those of you getting your phones today… how/when did you order? AT&T store in person, AT&T online, Apple store in person or Apple store online etc? I’m curious how they picked the people for early delivery.
I went to the AT&T store in person and pre-ordered on the 15th…come to find out this morning that it never processed in their god damn fucking computers.

Probably better that mine is getting delivered tomorrow. I had planned to work from home tomorrow afternoon and I can’t do that today because of some lunch meetings I scheduled.
So the only difference between my iOS4 3gs phone and this new one is a front facing camera…

Display is way better
Processor is way faster
Ram is doubled
Camera goes from 3 to 5 MP
And that’s comparing it to the 3gs. I have a really slow 3g so the difference is going to be even bigger.
But yeah, I’m a little more geeked out than I probably should be. I haven’t bought a new toy in while, especially one where I actually get it on launch day.
It just surprises me that you guys seem to be getting so stoked out about it…
Like, you’re going to get it, say, oh that display looks a lot better, ooh, that seems to move a little faster and maybe snap a picture… and then? LOL.
It’s not like it’s really doing anything different or cooler.
Well nobody is going to get something new and go…oh wow this thing sucks balls. The front facing camera will probably be used practically by 5% of the users. Apple could have slowed the new phone down, made the screen shitier, and cut out options and people would still flock to get it. It’s a status thing.
Quite a bit has changed and got a lot better. One of those being the ability to shoot 720p HD video.
But I’m kinda with you on how insane people are getting. I haven’t even decided if I’m going to get one yet. I most likely will, but I’ll wait till I can casually walk into the apple store and purchase it without fighting off the crazies.
also, how is it that even with the new phone I need a computer to arrange my photos…
Let’s say I take a pic of my schlong next to a can of arizona iced tea for size comparison and then send it to some hunny that just added me on FB, but I wanna save it to send to other hunnies in the future (it was looking especially veiny that day) but if I save it in my iPhone “camera roll” my bros might see it when they’re checkin them n00ds i got from sluts on FB and snooty fox and even tho i’m not friends with any fggts, i don’t want them turning gay once they see how breathtaking my shit is.

There is plenty more, new design, new screen, much better performance (more RAM, faster processor).
Besides, I don’t have a jesus phone now… I suppose if I had a 3gs I’d have a harder time justifying it

Right, but it’s not like it DOES anything new… it’s like people’s whole lives have culminated to this release, then they’re going to get it and it’s just going to look a bit crisper and moves a hair faster… I guess the only left to do with it after that is get in public and USE it so people notice that you got it on release day.
I still don’t think you can fault people for being excited about buying cool, new stuff. Let us have our funnnnnnnnn 
The majority of the new iphone buyers, don’t care about the 512MB of ram, the front facing camera, the upgraded processor, etc. It’s made by Apple, it’s new, it’s shiny…they gotta have it. It is a decent phone, I think the thing I like the most is the new screen. I still prefer my android to my iPhone.
Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE new shit. To me, tho, the degree of improvement is disproportionate to the amount of hype that it’s getting…
As I see it, it’s like every EvoX owner selling their current car and scrambling to buy a new EvoX because it has a new front bumper and a cooler gauge cluster.
