I love my jailbreak. I have 5 icons across in each page so they are smaller and 5 in the bottom dock. Allows me to keep all my useful ones on one page. Also, some theme tweaks and little annoyances like keeping recent apps out of the multitask bar so it only shows stuff that is running. Some other ones are Copic which allows you to show contact photos in the messages list and in your contact list. Springtomize does the icon tweaks and also allows you to hide certain status bar icons you dont like.
The themes and other stuff can make your phone unstable but its up to you to determine how much you want to mess with and how stable you want your phone.
Having a hard time figuring this out, my friend recently got an Iphone 3gs on iOS 5.0.1 and wanted me to jailbreak it so he can use his T-mobile sim.
Phone has the 05.16.05 baseband and is also has a post xx135 build date so I can’t switch to the ipad BB. I downgraded to iOS 4.1 but the phone still retains the 05.16.05 BB.
AFAIK, there isn’t any other way to unlock this phone?
+1 on tomtom. Except I just downloaded the IPA and drag/dropped it into itunes and let it sync the app. Works as long as you have appsync installed, which is put down as part of installous automatically.
Picked up the Blaze theme, aptbackup, MIM(Make It Mine) which allows me to change the name of the carrier. Also ICaughtU which is a nifty app that takes he picture of anyone trying to unlock my phone and doesnt know the code. It also emails me their location and time and doesn’t allow them to turn the phone off from the lock screen. Makes find my iPhone an even more useful app if my phone gets stolen.
Last apps from cydia are SBsettings and bitesms. So far my phone is pretty stable. The springboard cashed after I uninstalled intelliscreenX. That app chewed through my battery. no other problems.
I have never had to respring because of bitesms, ever. I have been using it for months upon months with no issues. 90% of the time you have to respring because of an unstable tweak, afaik.
It makes restoring all your jailbroken apps so much easier. Restore in itunes, re-jailbreak, install installous, go back to itunes and hit sync. All your legit apps and all your cracked apps get put back on, organized how you had them in itunes, with just one click.
Lockinfo is the one cydia app I can’t stand not having. I tried intelliscreenx and it’s geared more toward the twitter/facebook crowd. To me neither of those are “notification/lock screen” worthy so I really prefer the layout and customization of lockinfo. 3g unrestrictor is nice, as well as tetherme for very occasional tethering. Mostly though I’ve gone to purchasing my apps legit and only use installous for a couple apps I think are grossly overpriced (tomtom, jaadu rdp).
^ You’d have to jailbreak it. Lots of number blocking apps in the Cydia store.
Or just be an adult, call the number and explain it’s harassment and will be reported to the authorities if it continues. As long as you’re calm and serious 99% of people are going to knock it off because they’ll know you’ll follow up with the authorities.
