"The total Geekbench 2 score comes in at 1601. Poole notes that the average score for the iPhone 4S is 629 and the average score for the iPad 3 is 766. A comparison chart of previous iOS devices can be viewed at Geekbench. The numbers seem to validate Apple’s claim that the A6 processor is twice as fast as the A5 and any previous iOS device. This one score also places the iPhone 5 ahead of the average scores of all Android phones on Geekbench. The full Geekbench results further breakdown processor, memory and bandwidth performance.

^^ lies

Android is too awesome to lose to the iPhone in any challenge

I might go check out the S3 is its runs Jellybean and the battery is killer like the stats say it might be worth it.

Need to check out size/build quality

SIII can run anything…ROM that bitch.

Also why is the “Lightning” cable only USB 2.0?

I don’t know what stats you’re looking at but the battery life on my old iPhone 4 blows my new S3 away. Anyone claiming to get more than a day out of it either isn’t using it or they’re playing those android games where you shut off every antenna you’re not using and run the screen on 1/2 watt bulb mode.

Right now I’ve got mine on auto-brightness and leave GPS and wifi on and with light to moderate use I’m in the 20% range by end of day. Same use on my iPhone 4 with the screen on just about torch mode I’d be over 50% at EOD.

Largely due to the fact that most SOC’s right now only have usb 2.0 and adding usb 3 would have required apple to possibly increase the device size.

megalame.

Glad I am not the only problem that faced this with Android phones. The two I tried had the same turn out.

I prolong my battery life by using wifi, I have tasker turn my screen to the lowest setting from work hours (I’m indoors anyway), usually will turn off location services as well. The nice thing about android (not sure if iOS has this), but if a certain app is sucking battery you can see it and uninstall or reconfigure it. iOS or Android, battery life is still sub par from what it should be considering what these phones can do. Watching movies, playing games, web browsing, SMS, etc. I’d like a battery that jams a day and a half at least without a charge.

I found out a lot of ATT orders aren’t shipping until mid October. I think I am camping at the Apple store on Thursday night to get mine Friday morning.

I’ll be super bummed if Verizon doesn’t ship out til then as well =/

Ordered mine the night of the release. Apple still has my delivery date as the 21st. If you go to the apple website now all carries say 2-3 week wait from the 21st

Friend said he’s getting his the 5th? Pre-order with 2 week delivery. AT&T I think.

What time did you wind up ordering? Mine still shows the 21st as delivery date and is “Preparing for Shipment” when I check order status on Apple.com

Ya that is mine. Apple is getting updates that the ship date is moving to an earlier date like the 21st. ATT orders seem to be jacked up.

Like 8:30am on the Friday. ATT order status is pre order processing. If I don’t see an update by Thursday, I am planing on camping out in the mall to get one at 8am Friday.

Everyone I know with an S3 complains about the battery life, even those that have rooted and done all sorts of wacky shit.

Thats annoying as shit.

I have 3g/wifi/bluetooth/gps on all the time and never have an issue. It would be annoying as crap to toggle stuff as I needed it to make it through the day. Thats just me though.

Tasker can do it by time, by date, by location, etc. The battery life on the galaxy nexus has never been great, but romming and doing this is better.

I am entertained by all the Android fanboys that every time someone with an iPhone says “I enjoy doing X easily”, their response is always “Well you can do that on Android too. Just install this program, download this file, hook up to your computer, load this file, flip this toggle, load this other app, create new page, tap twice, go back to the first page, tap the first toggle. There, now your bluetooth is off”

lol iFags^^

Double Fail…Holy fucking shit.
