Google plays dumb to it but they caused Apple to need to get a new maps product. They wanted to use Google’s turn-by-turn and Google told them no.

Not direct quote but Google/Apple integration problems started before the release of iOS5. Apple was distancing themselves from Google with the integration of other search providers and was thought to do the maps in iOS5 but they confirmed they renewed the agreement for another year. Right after that, Eric Schmidt of Google also resigned from Apples board at that time due to “conflict of interest”. Apple has been trying for a while to remove Google from the iOS platform and it was only a matter of time esp now with the Apple vs Samsung lawsuit and now Apple vs Google. Plus, Apple is not the easiest company to work with. There was all the talk that Verizon was supposed to be the first carrier for the iPhone but they initially didn’t want to give Apple that much control and turned it down.
I am not gonna lie, I was using the maps application last night on my 5. It was pretty awesome. Turn by turn was cool and I love that is integrated into the OS fully with the locked alerts and top bar messages for navigation.
LOL the lightning cable has an authentication chip. Forget about plugging your shit in for less than $20/cable.
I wouldn’t be mad if it was at least a magsafe cable. But it’s just a fucking cable. “BUT IT’S SMALLER THAN MICROUSB SO THE WHOLE PHONE CAN BE THE THINNEST PHONE IN THE WORLD” except for all the other smartphones with microusb cables that are as thin or thinner.
And this is what, 2 days after launch? Give it a month and you’ll be able to pick them up 3 for $10.

What is? The biggest push for the phone was that the iPhone5 is the thinnest smartphone ever. I know there is a couple that are smaller but they aren’t flat the whole way through and have parts that are wider.
Frankly, who gives a shit about which phone is slimmer?
