The first Android based phone is being released tomorrow for T-Mobile. Priced at the same as the 8GB iPhone, I wonder how Apple will react to this.
One thing that the phone allows is multiple apps to run at once. The Apple SDK rules prevent any app from running in the background so hopefully this will change for developers since the phone is more than capable of it. Also cut and paste is something useful esp if you do a lot of emails on your phone that the Android phone will have yet, Apple left out.
Other than that, its pretty much toe-to-do. The iPhone is more flashy IMO and has the Apple backing but it will be interesting how this shakes up Apple
Ya. The more emails I use with the phone, the more I really would like the feature. I also wish a way to tap and edit a number before dialing. I am not from this area so I have a 585 number so when someone sends me a text with 555-1234, I have no way of putting 716 in front it of without memorizing it and manually typing it in.
Somewhat old news. Its a pretty wierd recall too. You need to break a prong off in the wall. Seems pretty difficult. I am not too concerned since its not like the adapter suddenly bursts into flames or melts the cord randomly. Lol
Yeah from what I am reading Jobs has shot them down b/c he does not want bandwidth hogs, which I can understand, but then just limit them to wifi use only.
Well its entertaining becuase technically on any ATT phone, you are not allowed to use any streaming application. Thats why its funny that AOL Radio and Pandora is allowed along with these other apps that stream data constantly.
I like the new Pandora tho on the phone. You can select high quality or low quality so when my phone goes into edge, it doesnt freak out.
I have access to a brand new iPod Touch (1st Gen). Are those able to be Jail Breaked? Any downfalls to getting one of those compared to new 2nd Gen? Also It has the original version of the software that came out. Can I upgrade it or will I need to?
Is there a non-jailbreak way to listen to my XM subscription for free? I know uXM is for jailbreak.
Same question for slingbox.
millardsoftware is working on a port of uXM for the appstore, not sure when it’ll be released though (IF apple approves it). The old version for jailbroken phones doesn’t work on the latest firmware so that wont work either.
You can use uXM and Orb on your home PC, then connect to orb via safari to stream XM. It’s crude, but it works for the time being
No, but you can. I would highly suggest staying with 1.1.4 though, unless there is a specific reason you want to upgrade since not many apps are being ported for the new firmware (or at least, they’re not being ported for jailbroken phones which = $$$)
You plug the phone into your ODBII port via a cable and can monitor everything going on in real time (adding guages if you want), check codes, record graphs, skidpad and lateral accelerating/braking logging, GPS tracking, ect. Pretty badass little app
Seems like you just can try the app now until the release the hardware for it, if they ever do. Does the app do anything without the ODBII adapter on it?
