Is there any other features the 3g has compared to 1gen? Cons/pros?
besides asthetics, 3G and GPS their pretty much the same AFAIK
you can do it right in itunes, google it, takes about 2 seconds to make one.
- 3g capability (HUGE)
- True GPS and mapping.
- better hardware that supposedly fixes some call quality issues
- slick design IMO
Whats the difference in design? I never seen one up close.

went and got it on lunch, they were able to activate it right there instead of going through itunes.
While he was going over my plan, he noticed my company discount (which was supposed to be something cheesy like 2%) was showing a 0%. He then couldn’t find my company in their database so he said “fuck it, I’ll give your plan a 20% discount… it’s good for teathering too if you decide to get that later on”

Ya. I got mine that way too. Guy gave me 20% off and everything. Its nice too when you call you get right into business care which is better for support.

do any of you guys have an issue where the phone screen doesnt pop up when you take it away from your head while making a call? I’ve made 2 so far and both times I had to manually shut the phone down to end the calls :tdown:
Press the home button or touch it a few times is what I need to do if it doesnt turn back on.
Did you update to 2.1? Might fix it too?
not sure what firmware is currently on it at the moment. Will know later lol

Nope, mine always detects that.
Try it out by making a test call and setting the phone face up on your desk. Don’t put it on speaker phone, and place your finger over the upper left hand side of the screen (the part near the ear speaker, not the touch screen). That’s where the proximity sensor is that the phone uses to see if it’s near your face. When your finger gets close to the sensor it should turn off the screen, then immediately turn it back on when you move your hand away. If it isn’t doing that something is wrong.
*** Will not work when using BT, headphones or speakerphone.
you’re a genius Jay :tup: turns out that my old case was covering that part slightly. Looks like I need one made for the 3g style (or cut a larger hole in this one).

Ha ya. In the sun you can see where the off color sensors are for the light and proximity. Don’t cover them
probably just going to get a new case. I already trimmed this one a little with a steak knife and cut myself pretty bad in the process (don’t cut towards yourself haha)
