the jetta is no longer a 4x4!

well, here it is, my semi-slammed dub. i drove around for about 30 mins yesterday and i can tell you that the ride is a lot smoother than i thought it would be on the firmest setting all around…however it is much rougher than stock  now every girl that steps in my car will ask why the ride is so rough <_<

but anyways we also finished up the clutch yesterday and it grabs like no other! floored it in third from about 35 to 60 and wow. this car has nothing! :frowning: but the clutch is so nice. there’s actually a certain feel now on the pedal and its so nice! me and my dad also took a pretty damn sharp corner at 65 on hills church road goign uphill as well as a real real tight corner on crowfoot rd and it went around both like i was taking it at 25. i can clearly tell this car has a ton of balls now in the handling department, and just wow. so amazing!

HOWEVER!!

i had a slight problem with starting up and the gauges clearing when i would turn the key. if i turned the key to start it, the starter wouldnt work, there would be no noise coming from the engine bya, but my gauges would turn off and then after i let the key go the guages would come abck on and the rpm gauge would show that i had jsut started up, butt he engine was not on. WIERD! posted my porblem at the tex and my question was answered in 3 minutes. i forgot to put a ground strap from the engine on the tranny  so i strapped it back on and OH SHIT! not this again!

the car doesnt start now. i knew this was going to happen, so its going to be towed to the dealer today :bye bye: if i let the car sit around too long which would be like no more than 3 weeks (meaning in the same place or just moving it around in the driveway, and it doesnt matter if i run the car everyday for 5 hours) then my car will not start. itll crank and crank and crank, but it wont start up. ive asked around 100 places and no one seems to know! and ive also found that when its cold (40* or below) the car will start, but wont above 45*. this shit is fucnky and ive had it with this piece! so its going to be towed to the dealer today…:bye bye: $!

well here are the pics after my long boring story. i think the wheels fit the car pretty well, so i wont change them until next summer :o  and yes i knowthe car is dirty as fuck.

not bad, but whitey pink jetta >urs!!!

nice… sounds like you have a bad ground … or something in the fuel sys is beat…

nice to see it is comming around…
and good luck on the other issue some times wirring issues are a big pain in the ass

i would check the battery terminals also. had a chevy venture the other day that all the power would be there and ass soon as you turn the key the int. lights shut off. then when you let it sit for about 5 minutes it did the same thing again.

they were gonna tow it but i decided to check the terminals real quick and it started right up… (had to take apart like 10 things to get to the batter on ventures also :()

so i would do that before it gets towed unless its too late

i cleaned the terminals before i figured out the tranny ground problem, so that cant be whats wrong :frowning: thanks for all the comments and suggestions though.

taking your VW to a dealer is a no no… People on the board could have looked at it first i am sure. also be careful how you take info from the tex. not everyone there exactly “knows” what they are talking about.

looks good though, and its a 2.0 they are slow as shit… but can be made to handle great.

its getting to the point where i dont care how or who fixes it, hell i dont even care how much it is to fix it. i jsut want it fixed so i dont have to deal with this shit again. its such a pain in the ass especially after i just got a brand new clutch in and my suspension in and i cant drive the fuckin thing. damn i hate my car…

looking good but needs deeeep lip wheels

its a vw what do you expect

:grouphug:

half the fun of owning one is fixing all the problems

^ yup…

my cabby blew a headgasket on me just for the heck of it… yay

off to the dealer it goes for an alignment and to fix the damn problem. they can take a look at it as early as friday :frowning: so ill be car-less for the week.

Looks awesome! Sorry to hear about the starting problem. Hopefully its something simple.
