The lot 2008 Discussion.

The reason Khol’s is the spot everyone wants to go is because it’s not too far for anyone, Jumpin Jacks is in Scotia which is a hike for a lot of people as well as the Park & Ride. Latham Farms wasn’t too bad if you got people to show up which happened maybe twice this year. The Park & Ride isn’t too bad of a trip but it’s still getting towards Clifton Park. I also think the back lot of Colonie Center (Boscov’s/Macy’s) would be a good place to go, tucked back away from the main roads, right down the road from Khol’s.

Thats a good idea

Saying that one place is a hike for a lot of people is a bit of an guess. We have plenty of people from CP and even farther north that would come out more often if it moved up more. We really dont exactly know where the majority of us live.

isnt the park and ride like exit 11…im comming from rotterdam and i know of like 10 other peaple who come from around me and i dont think any of us wanna go that far…latham farms isnt bad but any further than that is a little far for my tastes…i think we should just give kohls anouther shot this year

I come from exit 11 every week to go to Kohls…me and all my buddys do.

We started having meets up here at exit 11 in a huge, light up parking lot…it was basically me, and 25 of my real good car buddies…i might actually do that again this year instead of heading down to kohls.

Before this thread gets out of hand, we should think of places, post your top 5 places, and vote in a poll. cuz theres always gunna be a place thats too far for somebuddy.

coline center, is a really good idea, it stay lit up. and it could be a word of mouth to go there, because after what i seen at kohls this year, im not taking my car there, EVER again. too many people. too many chances for something to go wrong.

jumpin jacks in scotia, scotia glenvile cops ARE A-HOLES for anything. not to mention that there parking lot isnt big enough.

even with all these ideas, you have to take in consideration:

A. # of Parking spaces
B. Heavy police area (not that this should matter is nothing goes wrong)
C. People that will ruin anything will show up. PERIOD.
D. Place thats in the middle for almost everyone. like some where on central ave. (not the car wash)

Heres my Top 5.

1.Coline Center
2.Lathem Farms
3.Crossgates Mall
4.Denny’s on Wolf rd
5.Kohls

have fun this year. I don’t plan on returning to the lot. car’s going to be a magnet for police attention and with the stuff I’m doing to it, I don’t need the ricer opinions or the drama.

discussing and making rules on this board is foolish. The hooligans are never members of any board. People that spend time and participate in local boards have enough common sense not to be retarded. I’ve seen some crazy shit at the many lots and not once have I, or any of the people I was with, recognized the driver or the car.

The problem with moving it off central ave is that it has been there for so long and most car guys know that. Moving it away will just temporarily get rid of the a-holes, but it will also prevent the good non-forum member car lover from joining the “scene” as well since it will be in a super secret location.

I personally will be avoiding any lot

I have a feeling that the only real solution would be to have a privately owned paved lot with a gate and a gate keeper.

I’ll throw 5$ in :lol

P.S. I can see it’s getting to the point where people are not wanting to show up to “any lot” (Gran, Redroof, Hooked). I completely understand, but it just goes to show how messed up the situation is at the moment.

Best Idea I can come up with atm, that could potentially work, is all of us meeting at Park & Ride, once a week, and watching everybody that comes in. If somebody who don’t know shows up, we approach them and explain them the rules, and take down their plates. If they decide to be idiots, we report them. Once they show up for a number of times and we know they are going to be cool, they will help with the next wave of new people.

Has potential to work.

This was what I was trying to get at in my post, but I was never a big lot attendee. I dont have any fun standing there mean muggin’ everyone and talking about how fast my latest setup will be when I’m done with it.

I never got this part either: the lot is too far away if it’s up north? I thought everyone here likes cars and driving them? People arent willing to travel 15 miles with their friends from their old hang out?

Park and Ride is the first exit after the twin bridges, which I believe is number 8? It is also a good idea because there is no “Dedicated drag strip” near by, so it will cut down on street racing. Only the die hards will go all the way back down to Albany to duke it out. It is only about 10 minutes from Kohls under decent driving conditions, about 9 miles, which is really nothing.

Jclark, good point :thumb

ummm… northway. Ideal for high speed races from a roll

It’s nothing that wasn’t readily avaliable at Kohls. Plus there are usually no spectators for such events, and not as obvious that they are members of the lot, unlike Kohls when the entire lot would empty out to go see the races. Which was also another problem.

But I agree in that no places are ideal.

Hasn’t it occurred to everyone that anywhere off central off is gonna attract 10 times as many jackasses as any other place in the capital district? Everyone says that they want a spot thats real visible to get more "car enthusiasts to show up, but the truth is the people who see us and pull in are the ones causing trouble.

Wouldn’t it be better to spread the website so people can introduce themselves and understand what we’re going for before they show up at our hangout?

“our”…hehe

assuming we move it to a lot no one hangs out at now.

you guys don’t own anything. And you are actually breaking the law at any lot you hang out in. Making rules for “your” hangout is quite ironic.

For any of you die hard car lovers…me and my buddys will be meeting every friday night in the malta mall parking lot (right off exit 11) as I started doing last year after the lot was shut down. Im going to continue doing that because I wont be getting any of the jackasses.

boostin, i may decide to join you there as exit 11 is literally 3 minutes from my house. plus ill actually be able to drive the STi this year…good times to come.

:confused

Your car is completely illegal. Maybe you should return it to stock.

no one said we own any lot. As I already said, “our” lot is the one “we” go to. Saying our does not define legal ownership.
