has anyone switched to www.cuil.com ??
pretty cool story behind the development of the site… supposedly this is a new web searching logarithm technology
No haven’t heard of it but I may take it out for a spin for a few searches.
I’ve checked it out, but it’d be hard pressed to come anywhere close to Google.
I saw a article on it the other day about how they went about building it and why its different from google. Kinda cool how it displays search results in little paragraphs rather than a full list.

Heard about that a couple days ago on the news. They said it was created by some disgruntled former google employees.
Definitely a sign of the times when an internet site launch is on cnn.
i’m not here to argue, but naturally that’s what i do… the indexing algorithm already puts it above and beyond google as far as site gathering… obviously it doesn’t mean it’s better or worse, but is surely an innovation… the search by category is interesting too.
i wouldn’t say disgruntled employees… the woman that was bought out to create the logic for current google worked on this project on the side for years.
It found “pittspeed” on a search so it must be decent. 
I like the look of the cuil home page better than all of the others.

when I search for the company website, it won’t pop it up, but it will pop up a bunch of Pittspeed threads where I mention it. :kekegay:

I read that part…I tried a few searches in both and google found what I was looking for and that did not. I like to judge things by results.
i hear you… the shear amount of uptime and indexing of google is going to be very hard to surpass… i don’t see cuil picking up big or anything, just might be nice to have another solid search engine.
its not to bad at all, i like the way it looks, and the paragraphs u can view.
