The new IS

:rasies hand:

What percentage of Galant VR-4 owners are going to be interested in dumping a pissload of money into a huge turbo setup to have the car make about 190-200whp and break on a weekly basis? Really. :stuck_out_tongue:

I keed, I keed.

Are we talking about what appeals to the masses here, or what appeals to us individually??

I am talking about what appeals and does not appeal to me personally…

A 2JZ-GTE powered IS300 is one of my dream machines, so that is one of the key things I liked about it, which makes it worth mentioning.

You might be interested, but are you actually going to do it?

The main issue with the swap right now is there is already such a costly initial investment in the car itself… it will become more and more common as the cars get a little older and cheaper.

\

Interested =/= going to do it.

MAYBE, .05 percent ever go through with it.

They aren’t selling to them.

They are selling the the masses.

The 3.5L pumps out like 300+ HP N/A

that’s pretty good.

I bet you can supercharge that also!

(just playing devil’s advocate)

my problem with the old is300’s is the motor…2JZG…wait…oh…E…shit no t before e=a underpowered sedan meant for a better powerplant. if they would have put the turbo motor in look out or even maybe a better solution would be a 1jzgte motor with vvti from the newer soarer or other car i cant think of. the new ones look so good rolling…i saw a burgandy one in amherst the other day.

Yea, I am sure you probably could… but then its the cost factor again… the older IS is going to become more and more appealing as the price comes down.

I really like the old IS
I really like the new IS

old IS styling

o/t question: did the '02 manual maximas weigh under 3000lbs? buddy just picked one up and swears it :gotme:
