When you have eight cylinders you can lose one and hardly notice… If you have four or even six and drop a cylinder it will be more out of balance.
Get a tune, You will be surprised what a LS1 will do with headers and a good tune :nod

Its buried!! lol, i might say fuck it and just buy a bike…
well right now im starting to think that when I was doing my longtube install I might have hit the #5 plug and maybe damaged it somehow…I ended up having to take out #3 and #5 doing the install because they were in the way…I did try for a few minutes getting the header up in their with the plugs in…#5 was the plug keeping the header from sliding up.
i get what your saying but its foolish to not tune, ive done it three or four times now and have other friends that have done it as well, the stuff comes out great, but its your car, your just leaving a lot on the table
Good example is my buddies 99Gt, we were putting the new camshafts in, did a leakdown test on it and the #2cyl was down 75%!!! Never noticed.
me and my friend already did some timing advancement etc. the other day…just havent gotten into fuel tuning yet, and wont until my misfire is fixed.
explain what consist’s of a “leakdown” test???
the car runs like a rapped ape WOT…pulls hard in every single gear. Even with normal acceleration, it doesnt skip a beat. Only time it misfires is on a idle, and when im in 5th/6th gear around 1300-1800rpms going uphill accelerating.
i see your point and plafs but its obviously not a tune issue as it was doin it before hand …but for arguments sake pcmforless is awsome brian did my tune to get car runnin and i only had to mod it a little off spray and alot on spray …now onto the plug situation champion sucks instead of havin a solid rod in the porcelin for spark transfer they use a spring wich sucks as it breaks very easy …he also has missfires on cyl 4 also he has 2 cyls missin only under load secondary ign is my guess due to a shitty plug he went from bad to worse am i sayin it will fix it fuck no but its a great startin point as the weak link is the plugs
dont worry bout leakdown at this stage its easy to do but highly doubtfull its that car runs to strong and no miles or fuel in oil just relax for now and do as i said BITCH ;D
A leakdown test is also sometimes called a cylinder differential test . A leak down test pinpoints where you are losing compression and exactly how much. You should do a compression test first. Doing a leak-down test diagnoses where you’re losing compression before you open up your engine.
right ;D
Neither did my buddies car, and the #2cyl was almost dead, ran pretty strong too…
correct me if im wrong but would the lower compression cylinder have blow by??
i understand that but the lsx series motor has a noticable piston slap when cold and if they leak down that much you would hear it when warm as per gm tech training on them am i sayin its the end all be all no but i wouldnt scare like that at this stage car is smoth and quiet
yes but not all the time most of it
not if its a leaking valve…
:nod
also, the SES hasnt came on once while I was WOT…and thats going from 30-145. Wont blink once, wont skip a beat and burrys the speedo in a hurry…only misfire’s at idle and heavy load in 6th at low rpm acceleration.
leaking valve…wouldnt it have a bigger problem seating WOT, causing the misfire to get worse?
and wouldnt the plug be burning wet from a incomplete combustion from a leaking valve?
also cause a missfire at more times than at idle or loaded rpm,s if it was a valve
have you postedon LS1tech yet?
