The New Sirius Reciver

After having satelite radio in a metropolitan area, i realized…

my MP3 CDs are way better

theyd have to take your dash w/ them… if its not quick and easy to get out most thieves just leave it… AND… if its built into your dash chances are your insurance company will cover it…

and I dont live my life around what theives MIGHT do to my car… thats what insurance is for… and my compustar…

edit: i realize youd take it w/ you when you get out… 99.9% of the time theres a locking mech on the mounting system… so you can lock it there when you want to…

Ive been having the Sirius vs XM debate in my head for a while now, plan on getting it for the cobra, not sure which way to go. I like that receiver its nice. Does anyone know if Shade 45 is on XM or Sirius, i cant remember. WHich one has more channels? Cmon satelite nerds, fill me in which one should i get put in the slobra for spring.

i have xm and want sirius, i work for circuit city and have a mifi and a direct link unit but would give both up for one sirius unit because their 90s, hairnation, alt nation and other programing is way better. thier reception is better. i could give a crap about 0& a or howard stern, overall imo sirius is hands down better, same price but better content, i listen to it all day long at work and dont hear the same shit but with xm i do.

Shade 45 is on Sirius and they both have close to the same # of channels.

its not really that sirius’s tech is behind XM for the portability thing, a lot of it has to do with the fact that sirius uses FAR FAR less signal repeaters than XM. whereas XM has a single stationary sat. (i think its above nevada, or farther south) sirius uses 3 different sat that rotate in a figure 8 around most of north and centeral america.

in order to do a portable player, they would have to go the xm route and have a more repeated signal which can lead to quality loss, rather than having a true sat signal. (thats not to say XM’s quality is bad around here, ive only listened to it a couple times so i cant say).

overal though, sirius > XM for content. fuck both O&A and howard though

ya shade45 is on siruis… i hear its a pretty good station too. i am not in collage therefore i would never be walking around and needing to listen to music. if i had any free time like that id give my GF a call
so far in this post mike it looks like everyone basically is showing sirius has better features across the board besides the WiFi thing whick i dont need. we even have a XM user that wants to quit XM and go to sirius. so do what ya all want but i know what service and reciver im getting

ok so your brothers is fine, i was just making a general statement. i work at circuit city and we get myfi’s back all the time cause of reception issues. besides, that still doesn’t make up for the programming differences  i’ve had the chance to listen to both for a good 2 yrs now

sounds like sirius is teh winner!

I dont care about stern or any of that BS, i want to cruise in my car and not have to listen to the same freakin 5 songs over and over again on the 3 radio stations that i do actually tune into around b-lo
