The next trillion dollar bailout

You wanna know who you sound like?

THIS GUY

Tell me if I’m wrong, but no offense didn’t you grow up in a super nice house in like the Clarence School District or something and have had your dad give you a job doing roofing for most of your life? Doesn’t seem like you really have any life experience to discuss the problems with low class society.

Its been a while since I last saw you so I don’t know what you are doing now.

To be honest Hoover wasn’t that bad of a person or president until the crash. Read a little bit of his work prior to being president.

Your assumptions are wrong like usual Tom. I was born in an apartment in 1980…my father was a copier salesman and my mother worked at K-Mart

In 1982 He got a job with a roofing products mfg, mom still worked at Kmart and my sister was born.

  1. Moved into a very small 3 bedroom house in Lancaster.

  2. Bought his first brand new car, and my mother got her first brand new car…stopped working at Kmart.

  3. Built their first home in Lancaster

  4. Built the “big” house you know in Lancaster.

  5. I started to work part time for the company while in college.

Present. He is 26yrs in with the company, I am 10 years in with the company and worked my way up.

Moral of the story…Life isnt a gift, it is what you make of it. Everyone has the opportunity to get off of their lazy ass and make something of this life.

So don’t tell me that I dont know about the struggle. I have had it pretty good most of my life, but it didnt come from my parents sitting around and waiting for a free hand out.

I would never support prohibition!

Edit - I would also never support a huge tax increase to the wealthy or business enterprises.

FINALLY!!! COMMON GROUND!!! :jam: :highfive:

Only because its friday Fry! Monday - Thursday are the debating days :stuck_out_tongue:

I just think that your perspective on the issues here, which seem to be so ‘passionate’, are overly simplistic primarily due to not having any real experience on the matter. Sure you probably have seen the thugs and the loosers in low class that shouldn’t receive any assistance. But you are going to tell me they are all like that? Have you ever seen a mother or grandmother try and raise a family on their own while she works and receives welfare?

I only worked for two years in the Buffalo School System and trust me I saw a lot of loosers that I would like to see just throw themselves over a bridge so my class size would have been smaller, but I saw a ton of students try and try and all I hear and see of them is heart ache after heart ache and obstacle after obstacle keeping them from their goals.

So before you go off on your rant that everyone thats poor or in low class is lazy and should not receive anything, remember you grew up mainly between middle and high class. You never faced anything like these people face everyday and they have not been handed shit, not like you anyway.

I’m not saying its wrong that you had advantages over these people, but I am going to say that you should STFU pretending you know anything about them.

Sometimes when you post you sound like an angrier version of JEG.

PS: What did you get your degree in?

Well Tom, I am passionate about MY $ and MY taxes before i am more COMpassionate about the less fortunate.

And I work in a lot of inner city schools and see first hand the kids…not on a daily basis as you a teacher would but from someone just walking the halls for 5 minutes…I see a lack of respect, a lack of wanting to be in school, and a lack of authority. I do feel bad, but I dont want to reach in my pocket and make sure they are taken care of.

I am sure there are some bright minds in bad places that will never get to realize their true potential and I think that is a biggest failure of the system.

And I will STFU when I feel confident that the LOSERS are getting a good education from competent teachers that enlighten them with proper spelling and grammar skills so that they can go out and get a job better than McDonalds…or hell…even without those skills it appears they have a good shot at becoming teachers.

WTF, you think you know something because you have roofed a building in the city? Are you that fucking naive or were you trying to be funny? Thats like me saying, I know what its like to be a roofer because I had roofer come to my house once.

And what do you know about what it takes about being a teacher, nothing.

There are plenty of people here who know what they are talking about or have experience on either side of this discussion and similar discussions but you are not one of them.

If there is a thread about how to grow up in mid-upper class society and have daddy help me get a job then you can chime right in.

PS: Your custom title is spot on.

And how did you grow up Tom that you feel you know the plight of the inner city youth so well? And please dont tell me its because you worked in the schools for 2 whole years from 7-3 and went home to your wife and apt. in Amherst everyday.

Please don’t be jealous Tom…it will be ok. Just please explain to me why you want to leave NYS again? Is it because of the high taxes? Or the crummy unions?

Also…doesn’t your father own a business in Amherst?

And let me take this time to apologize for my father that worked hard and was able to provide me an opportunity to succeed. I would have much rather stayed in school to get a degree and not be able to find a job. I would have much rather grew up poor and on welfare so that my father could show me how to abuse the system so I wont have to earn an honest days pay in my life.

LOCK

:grouphug: Please Lock Thread.

NO DON’T LOCK IT!

This is exactly what they want, we distract ourselves by fighting with each other about stupid stuff while they steal our money!

I didnt say I have all sorts of knowledge about inner city youth…I said that from my POV in walking through the halls and being in the classrooms and listening to what the employees of the school say that there is a lack of discipline, a lack of caring, and a lack of motivation present in the schools.

But leave it to a liberal to take offense to everything someone says

When it comes to taking offense you are king, every political thread you participate on you talk as if we were talking about you personally, you are so angry at anyone who see the world different from you.

Time and time again you seem it to throw small insults and jabs at people you argue with, calling them communist and such. I haven’t heard anything close to communism from any thread here. Honestly if you think that trying to have gov’t programs to help the poor like food stamps is communist then under that extreme logic I would call your approach that only the strong should survive and the weak most go as being fascist.

But I don’t see the world as that simplistic because its not.

I questioned how you came to the conclusions you have by questioning your upbringing. Because I do find it hard that a person who grew up well off can “know” so much about how the other side lives.

My god you truly think you know something of the inner city because you tarred a city school.

I hear ECMC needs some patch work done, maybe you can fix their roof and know what it takes to be a Doctor.

What a joke.

You can get the last word in because I’m done.

/Thread

Speaking of roof work…my garage roof is leaking in near the gutters.
I guess this spring I’ll have to get that bitch replaced. :frowning:

I would rather take everything personal and speak how I feel than speak in generalized statements and copy and pastes from the internet.

And I do hate food stamps…esp when the person in front of me using their food stamps has a fur coat and an escalade. I do not hate the idea of passing out help to those that need it. The system is corrupt and there needs to be more stringent requirements to apply for benefits.

As far as you speaking about what I do for a living…It would help if you actually knew what I do. Atleast I am not influencing the youth of tomorrow with “poor me” views.

I would NEVER want my kids educated by someone like you. I would like my childrens school teachers to be able to spell and communicate effectively so that my kids have an opportunity to be productive members of society. I would be pretty disappointed if my son/daughter came home with a paper graded by a teacher and had spelling errors knowing that my tax dollars are paying their salary. You should write a letter of apology to all of your students for detracting from their education.

I want more for my $…I want decent infrastructure, decent schools, decent healthcare, and decent opportunities for success.

I do not want people who have no rights to my $ just having it handed to them. This isnt to say there arent truly “needy” people in the world that need help to get back on their feet, not abuse the system and stay down trodden for their entire lives.

I guess its true what they say…once you go black, you never go back so when you climb off your Presidents dick, feel free to engage in some normal conversation.

Also don’t talk about things you don’t know about. You don’t know a damn thing about my upbringing and my “gift” of a job. So keep holding on to your hope and I will continue to hold onto reality.

pownage!!! :spank:
But to clarify…so you don’t like diamonds and the minks? The boots and the furs???

The see me rollin…they hatin…
