Ran the Nova at Empire tonight. I may never be the same again. Such a nice well organized track. It was so much fun and well worth the trip out there. Only made 3 runs myself and let my buddy make a run. Hopefully he drives his Turbo Nova better than he drives Big Block Novas  We ran it just as we brought it and made no changes while there. Since my last 1/8th mile time was discussed, my new 1/8th mile time is 6.6. Ran a 6.7 and 6.9 on my other passes. Launching this car is still a struggle and until I upgrade the suspension and maybe toss a set of slicks out back it wont get any better. This is probably a wrap for me this year. I did more to my car in this 1 summer than I did in the history of owning it. So  to me for being awe$ome and I’ll see my fellow racers at the track come spring
Good runs! 6-anything n/a is flying! Post the 6.6 slip, i’d like to see the increments. I am heading there October 20th, and was going to make a thread. Don’t put it away just yet!
Hauling ass! Hell yeah Empire is the only way to go.
There ya go. I figured the et would drop just on the track alone but what was the mph and the full slip?
No sense in letting out in the 1/8 when u have a cage. 10.3 to 10.5 range? You got me beat and That’s really sweet.
Congrats pixie
You’re gonna be pissed when you figure out NYI is a faster track then Lancaster and you actually ran the same times lol
I aint got ya beat dude. The mustang is still the faster car. If we both went all out :tspry: youd be at the finish line before I was able to hit the button. The reality is my car isnt setup well enough to ET much better than it currently is. Maybe it would improve a little on the big end but too late to play catchup to where your car is at by the time I start giving it the guns. I still got alot of work to do before I enter Choda territory and I might also have to invest in a sweet enclosed trailer so I can camp out at NYI like a boss next to all the drag cars with my slow street car lol.
I kept my open deck dual axle. It works perfectly and is light. No need to camp out when u live 40 min away. Enclosed is nice if u want your toll box, misc junk, compressor, generator and other stuff. I always brought a little tool box when I went racing. Most the time it sat there un opened. Enclosed also keep them outta the weather. What’s ur tow rig? My ol dodge would have died pulling an enclosed the silverado coulda but it would have worked. Again for the 40 min trip, is it worth it? Going outta state for weekends I could see an enclosed but what we do is more spur of the moment sat night racing. Plus the street car shootout is driven to not trailered.
Post your slip already. I wanna see it
I could use an enclosed trailer for work. So it wouldnt just be for that. I could use it a couple days a week instead of my open trailer I have now that im out growing anyways. I almost bought an 18ft x 7 LOE v-nose and now im glad I didnt. I think a 20 x 8 would be good for work and also be able to tow the car with. Relax with the slip posting. It’s on a need to know basis. I’ll PM u fggt
edit: i got a 2500hd silverado it tows my dump trailer loaded with stone up hill. good ole’ gasser power
nyi is usually 2 tenths faster than Lancaster.
yes it definately is
ahhhhh i still might be in for next week lol
Did you improve your 60ft from Lancaster when we ran? 6.6 N/A is quick for a street car. You really need to look into the suspension to get the car to hook or put some big tubs in the back. A great 60ft will greatly improve your ET.
i wish it would have worked out like that for me
all depends on the night
well i dont know if that was purely the case. i did put over a grand into the fuel system from the last time i was at lancaster and fucked with it on a dyno for almost a week. yea jimbo best 60 was at nyi. still needs slicks i think to be consistent
i ran a 7.0 at lancaster with 1.6 60 foots, i ran 6.9 with a 1.8 at nyi…
wait so you cut better 60’s at lancaster
Better get the drag racing police down here because that can’t happen.
I saw a black nova near my house off main st with the front clip off in a garage… didnt happen to be this one?
as I posted earlier the track was hooking great that night. My car usually one pulls 1 wheel up alittle and I never feel it, that night I could feel it come up and carry the wheels alittle and then it set back down. My 60 fts went from 1.50s to a 1.47 and my et dropped to 6.97s
Must have been another murder nova
Bump. Did u get up getting the Holley efi. Last we talked I didn’t know much about the system but over the winter I’ve been reading into both the hp and dominator systems. Both have 5 star reviews and Holley tech / customer support is bar none.
Nitrous guys love it too. Tune and time multiple kits.
naw man I haven’t touched the car since last fall. I don’t think it will be coming out this year from the looks of it anyways. Bringing my car out was supposed to be fun but it didn’t live up to the hype cause when it came down to it nobody wants to help wrench or they cant go to the the track for x y z reasons. everybody has better shit to do apparently and I can find other uses for my time and money then waiting around for people who say one thing but do another.
Get some proper tires and suspension under there you dummy!
