Does anyone have experience with antique firearm laws in NY? I think on a federal level, anything older than 1899 is antique.

I’m looking at a 1895 Nagant Revolver. I do not have a pistol permit. I was told I could legally own this revolver. Does the actual manufacture date have to be before 1899? Or just the model? The federal law includes “replicas” as being exempt.

It would be actual date of manufacture not model date. I honestly have no clue about the legality and whether or not it’s considered an antique firearm or not.
